Dont worry about the feds kicking the door in, its the teds hes upset, most of them were just waiting for us lose the appeal and go under, remember you"ll never get rid of the gas!! Post of the day for me. But isn't it a shame that zfc remains persona non grata? I would have been interested in hearing his take on things.

Did I ever mention that there were better people about than the ones that were running the club into the ground? I never thought in my wildest dreams that this man would turn up though. All most people have ever wanted was the club to be ran the correct way and this man certainly knows that way. He really does seem to be that special kind of man that understands, not just the way of real football but also the Robers way. I have heard it said that he is a PR mans dream but I hear some cynicism in some of those comments. I have heard enough to be genuinely believing that he is tailor made for us. I have not felt such real excitement in many years and that can be said about all facets of my life. Maybe I have just become a grumpy and cynical old fart but this old fart can't stop smiling and all because of what has happened to the club. I have said, on a fair few occasions, that I feel my love of the club had died to just a single and very weak ember but who am I kidding ? I was and still am, on cloud nine there are two "b"s in robbers!!!

I had an exchange with Doug Shields via private messages but I didn't ask if he will still be working with the club. KP - don't think he is!!! A mate of mine received confirmation on the day of the takeover. Thank you. I had a frank exchange with Doug and it wasn't a bad chat as it happens. I always felt Doug was very much NH's man & of course that was the reason he was hired. I hope to meet him as soon as I am allowed out. It's a shame he felt agitated enough to infollow me all because of my Bye bye Nick tweet but such is life.

Have read article in the Times. First and foremost it is about him as a person and he comes over really well. Seems to be very grounded, I like the Chelsea link as it shows that who he supported as a youngster is still important to him. Henry Winter is the best football writer IMO and comes over well when on TV and Wael has obviously impressed him. The first half of the article is about the FIFA elections and world football, it seems incredible that our owner is involved at the top of world football. Although third favourite Prince Ali, were he elected, would mean our own Wael would have the ear of the world chief! (Wake me up someone!!). The longer this week has gone on and as I've read more about him the more optimistic I feel about the future. No extravagant claims, no claims about splashing the cash, it's all about sustaining a long term improvement. In the article even Henry Winter acknowledged the "famous quartered shirt" and we can all be reassured that no colour changes or badge changes will be happening. He even knew about the Spanish pre-season friendly. This guy seems seriously prepared, with a business plan and has started to plan for merchandising improvements and infrastructure already. He is well prepared, appears to know a lot about us and is going to do things in a steady, incremental way. Biggest problem might well be managing our (the fans) expectations and remaining patient. UTG! Please, please please the badge can go...

Is this really happening, I'm (almost) gobsmacked by it. I know nothing has actually or significantly changed as yet but everywhere we look there are enormous positives appearing from places we never thought possible. Oh Lord, long may it continue. Think I'll have to go and have a lie down......

Gas and Wael also just mentioned on Kick Off on TalkSport during a FIFA debate. Not discussed for long and interrupted by a goal at Old Trafford but included some lame joke about going from FIFA Pirates to The Pirates. Missed the part that immediately preceded it when they talked in depth about Prince Ali but I think it was less than complimentary (about Ali, not Wael). I share the excitement and optimism of the posters above but with a slight tinge of apprehension. There's saying and there's doing and the saying is the easy part. I'll start to believe when I see shovels in the ground at UWE If you want to listen again, it will be available later on their website, approx. 8:20pm talksport.com/radio/schedule

I think we could be a Trojan horse for Jordanian politics - similar to Qatar using PSG. With the FIFA elections also happening then I wouldn't rule out the takeover being politically and socially motivated.
This may be good news for rovers fans who want glory but I sense a bit of exploitation by a wealthier elite. Maybe cynicism is natural after many a year watching the old boys club fumble in box 1.

Think I'll have to go and have a lie down...... I know just what you mean. The worst of it so far has been watching how many Gasheads have pitched into the tacky 'Our man has got a bigger wad than yours!' contest, but it's a 'worst' I don't mind taking when this time last week administration was a distinct possibility and the idea of Rovers fans being able to take part in such an argument at all was laughable. It's an enormous change in fortunes in such a short time, and I'm still half-expecting Lewis Carroll's Red Queen to stride into the picture, throw the Duchess's baby at me and yell 'Harry Potter's our newest ball boy!' One way or another, we're making history - even if it is as the biggest group ever persuaded in an experiment to experience the same weird dream at once

Also got a mention the the Gaurdian football extra podcast.
A quick mention of the take over, and some banter on the founding name of Black Arabs. James Richardson referred to us as the gas, Barry glendenning asked if we were the gasheads- surly he should know that as a football writer!

I'll start to believe when I see shovels in the ground at UWE If you want to listen again, it will be available later on their website, approx. 8:20pm talksport.com/radio/scheduleThat is what being a Rovers supporter does to us. Let's face it, we have had decades of dreams and pie in the sky stuff. Personally I didn't even celebrate when we got the planning permission and I urged others to try & remain dignified. The computer mock ups of UWE were plastered all over social media and it was the greatest own goal I think we have ever scored. It gave our red friends so much ammunition and they are right when they say we are the gift that keeps on giving. My hope now is that we remain grounded and heed the words spoken by our new owner. He has not given any hint of doing things by spending but he has said all the right things, that a man would say if he really knew football. Personally, I would like to see things push on more quickly but that is because of my own circumstances and a hope to see us play in a new stadium. I don't get to quote Martin Luther King but here goes Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live - a long life; longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land bristol Rovers in a 36,000 stadium and gracing players the like of even Irene never dreamed of. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as as gasheads, will get to the Promised Land. So I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man nor 82 er. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord and the sons of Irene dancing as one. Goodnight Irene.

He has felt what you cannot see or touch and actually cannot define because it is wrapped up in so many Years and events; he appears to have felt the beating heart of this club. It is something that only the fans are custodians of and It does not matter whether you are player, manager, owner, investor, steward or paying on the gate etc; first and foremost you have to be a fan. The wonderful thing, and critically important thing, about being Gas is that it is not earned through time. You can be a non believer before you first see them and then it's like being tasered or called to religion. It just gets you. It happened to my wife 5 years ago and she is now a Quartered fundamentalist! I think Wael has been blessed with the same gift of Gas. What I particularly love about this situation is that we don't expect, and he has already committed to change and development but without definition. This means he will be forgiving with us,and us with him, if it takes time to achieve. Kingswood, you post too much and too passionately for it to have become a weak ember, you just needed more fuel.............I think you might have just been fed plutonium.

It is a big part of my life but I guess I felt that I couldn't see any way forward, that ended up with us not struggling. My my dad used to say that you build character through struggle and I agree with him but sometimes, sometimes it can all get a bit much and it can feel like all you have is struggle. I used to go to Rovers as much to get away from that as I did to enjoy it. Fact is that I and we have invested too much time and emotion for it to ever fully leave. I was looking at some photos, taken on the day our team did the bus tour. The look on Nick Higgs face tell a story all of its own and he really looks a broken man. Maybe he can now allow himself to just be a supporter and leave the worry behind ? I would, post them but I would have to ask his permission first. @pete Colley. Maybe you could post your photos please ?
