How many tweets did that take JPM? One, the page was linked (but you knew that). Still trying to get my head around it. It seems a very odd person to try and get on board. PR company but lets just say, some of the stories are at best tactless. To be honest more interested in the merchandise side as this is where I think we are not making what we could. I always thought Brian Seymour Smith ran a PR Consultancy, perhaps WAQ doesn't fancy him......

Are you thinking of Doug Shields? (Gingercomms). Link to Rovers Appoint PR Advisor"Bristol Rovers have today [19 Feb 2015] taken an important step towards improving its PR and communications by appointing Doug Shields to advise the Board. The club acknowledged in the summer we were lacking someone with expertise in this particular field, and the issue formed part of the internal review carried out by the directors. "We have also taken on board the comments and opinions of supporters on this subject, and we hope Doug’s arrival will show our intent to improve the way we communicate. "Doug is someone the board has known for some time and who has close to 20 years experience in the worlds of media and PR. He is a co-founder and director of London-based GingerComms and is a Rovers supporter, so has the best interests of the club and its fans at heart". Link to Gingercomms people"Doug is a former national news journalist and news editor (Sun, Closer, National Enquirer and Zoo Magazine) turned PR professional, with a 20-year career in both the UK and U.S.. He has a wealth of experience delivering highly successful media campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands and PR agencies, both in print and online".

Oh I'm glad it's not just me! Google and youtube are my best friends Hi Ann, I am self confessed useless and especially at practical stuff. It's not that I can't do DIY and sort things on my cars but, when I read the manuals, I get hot headed and it then becomes an exercise in futility and I lose any will to try. I always end up belittling my own ability and it's a vicious cycle. I am not good because I don't try, I don't try so I remain no good. Ever since I can remember, I was not good at reading the instructions and then trying to follow them. My parents were just too busy, in bringing up the 4 of us, that each time I tried to help out with decorating, painting etc, it took their valuable time away from doing the job and also holding down some gruelling jobs. Dad worked in the pits and mum doing many manual Jobs . Both worked very long hours. I consider myself very lucky in that I seemed to have some very special mentors turn up in my life & just at the right time. Yes, I've been very lucky when I consider life as a whole. When someone has had the patience, to show me and in a step by step process, then I found I was able to repeat that and to a very high standard. I am very much OCD on detail and so I want to get things right. I learned so much and from some really very cool people. Recently, I wanted to change some of the electric parts on my car and I tried the manual but the same thing happened. I did a search on YouTube and found step by step instruction. I managed to remap my own car, changed the front "Angel eye" lights and sorted out the interface to stream music from my phone, directly into the cars entertainment and satellite navigation unit. I saved myself around 2.5K by doing so. There is also the very satisfying feeling of knowing I did it myself. I now have a few people, on the Porsche forums, who have asked me to remap their cars. That is high praise indeed. Sorry it's a long winded reply but I just wanted to share it for others who may have the same type of trepidation when it comes to DIY repairs and upgrades. The price of labour, on this kind of thing, is very high & so it makes it all the better to have done it myself.

Very similar to me. I struggle to follow manuals and I definitely don't "do" diagrams. But if I can watch how something should be done, it clicks. Well generally anyway - don't think I'd ever attempt car mechanics, that would definitely be a step too far for me

I consul myself with the approach "that's what money is for", in other words I pay someone else to do my decorating Likewise with my car. In my younger days I would spend hours messing with it and changing oil, spark plugs, leads, points, brake shoes/pads/discs, exhaust pipes, lying under the car in the freezing weather patching up holes etc. Fortunately I now have a local mechanic who I drop the car into explain the problem, pick it up later, hand over a bundle of cash and hey presto, sorted.

This Stuart Higgins certainly seems like an interesting character - and dare I say a very good acquisition. Anyone know him from Kingswood back in the day? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_HigginsI'm absolutely fuming! If I'd have known Stuart Higgins was a Gashead 20-odd years ago when I was hankering after a job on the nationals I would have written to him and shamelessly begged him to help out a fellow BRFC fan. Today I would have been Head of Football at Sky. Pah!
