Yesterday all the papers ran with the line 'rovers bought by billionaire family'.
Now, don't get me wrong, they are clearly wealthy people. All the people connected with the new regime spoke very well yesterday too, about evolution and development. And they talked of clearing our debts.
The thing is, what evidence is there to put them even close to billionaire status?
There is a minority shareholding in what is, in the scheme of things, a very small bank (the 'billionaire' tag seems to have been based on the assets of the bank only, which is very weak - It has liabilities too and the market cap is tiny in comparison!). There's an interest in a hotel chain in Amman. But I can't get anywhere close to them being billionaires - tens of millions more like.
Now, that looks self made in banking and tourism. And they seem serious, humble people hoping to bring discipline to Rovers. So it's all good. But there is a massive difference between that and being able to simply write a cheque for 30m to build a stadium.
Sorry if this sounds churlish. I am quite sure our future is much brighter than it was with that wonga loan falling due imminently. But can anyone shed any more light on the 'billionaire' tag?

Its all a bit confusing.
No idea what the Al-Qadi personal wealth is. All seems rumour and speculation at the moment
What they do have is some business nous I assume and access to money from other sources

Digging some more I can see that the market cap (that is, value) of the AJIB, the bank that was set up by the head of the family many years ago, is 240m today. I think that makes the family shareholding worth around 80m.
They have other interests and over many years will have taken dividends from the bank and proceeds from selling down some of their shareholding. So I can credibly get to them being in the range of 100m-200m.
But it's a huge leap to 'billionaire' status. Sensational headlines might be getting people really rather carried away here.
Sorry if I sound like a party pooper. It's still way better than before. But we probably aren't quite the new Man City of league 2 after all.

Don't get too concerned with this, concern yourself with your own finances and your season ticket in our new stadium because that it now the reality.

They can have as much or as little money as they like. We are in a hell of a better state today, than we were 7 days ago! Off the pitch of course.
& for that, we will be eternally thankful.

He has enough to watch two teams playing as me and my lad just clocked him on the box watching Chelsea at the bridge.

That's what I love most about Mr Al-Qadi, he doesn't want to talk money like a lot of new owners into football clubs. Seems to only be those who interview him that mention 'wallets', 'lend us a tenner' and all those other grim attempts at a cash related laugh.

I have no idea of his material wealth but will he, or his family, have the available cash to make available to fund a stadium as well as investing in the playing side ? I don't know but I very much hope so. Having shares is a bit different to having money to spend.

I did notice the AJIB paid out a 12% dividend to shareholders last year.
Think that was the Jordan Times

Most of Steve Lansdown's wealth is made up of shares in Hargreaves Lansdown. He sold quite a few to pay for the redevelopment of Ashton Gate.

Didn't I read somewhere that they spent 1.2 billion buying shares in HSBC and the tourism "interest" is the fact that they own the 4 seasons chain of hotels, some off the most expensive places to stay in the world.

I think they own the building in which the Four Seasons Amman operates, I don't think they run the Four Seasons chain. Could be wrong.
