So having checked into the hotel St Raphael in the outskirts of Limassol in Cyprus, we went down for dinner only to notice about 100 young men and women all dressed in UEFA track suits of various colours, so I am thinking maybe there is a football tournament being played locally but no I was wrong. Seems I am staying in the same hotel as all the top UEFA referees who are conducting a teach in / seminar on all aspects of being a referee. I see conference rooms with labels covering such topic of fitness, decision making, conflict resolution etc. I saw Mr Collina was here, his looks are pretty much easy to recognise. I spoke briefly to 2 English referees and talked about football, didn't get their names but one of them said "judging by your accent your a gashead" which made me laugh because he didn't mention city at all.

Easy peasy really.

Was it the guy above? Kevin Friend who is from Bristol originally but based in Leicestershire.

Does anyone know the story with Steve Tanner?
I met him several times and he struck me as very ambitious. Then he seemed to make it as a top referee and instantly vanish. Why did he retire to take what amounts to an admin job? Didn't make sense to me even if he felt slighted by being dropped from the Premier League list.

Speak for yourself Well I've got one of them . I describe myself as an idiot savant I mean who, in their right mind, would support a team who have caused more misery than joy ? Lol. It takes a "special" type to do that. I think that it's the very British habit, of willing on the underdog that is very much on display at our club. My father used to tell me that the British were at their best when they had a common enemy and that they showed a spirit that he had not seen before. I've had my own personal battles with the duality of my background but, having said all that, I wouldn't take any of those bitter experiences away. They have been character building for sure and when it's been good, it's been brilliant. Bristolian & intelligent eh lol. Not this kiddy. More like Bristol born, Bristol bred. Strong in the arms but weak in the head. Nice one fella
