Think we were due to make some subs when we scored the first goal, so think it was a case of as you were after that. Seems to have worked! On the cash side of things, and I would love to troll back through thousands of posts to fully understand why we have so little had I the time, but are our debts so serious we can't make a decent offer for Gaffney? Cambridge surely have to consider that he is,as he has stated himself more than happy to stay with us- they wouldn't want the earth for him surely- even if he has managed to stay fit enough to score a few goals for us.

Higgs and the BOD took out a £2 million hi-interest loan to fight the sainsburys case (and repay Dunford loans?), also paying the loan interest from the loan itself. It would have been/will be ok if we had/do win the court case as the compensation from sainsburys would have/will cover it. We lost the initial court case, the appeal will be held in feb (March?). Until we know the result of the appeal (which may / may not trigger the ownership of the club changing hands), the general feeling is that the wallet won't be opened. Could be wrong tho - Higgs may splash the cash anyway

can anyone verify wether the guy who "elbowed" MT actually did, although he got a yellow did he "get away with it" A lot of teams would have gone steaming in after a challenge like that, surrounded the ref and probably influenced the ref in getting the opposition player sent off. Personally I am glad we are not that sort of side but I can think of several teams (Northampton, Oxford, Wycscum, Yeovil under Johnson), who would have done their best to get the player sent off

Thanks for that summary - get the picture a whole lot better now - seems to me the BOD are still as useless now as they were back in the 70's.....

So how much would you pay for a player you could get on a free at the end of the season?
Then on the other hand how much would you want for Taylor who is in the same position?
Are the amounts the same?

i would imagine that he would be gone from Cam' before he becomes a free agent, as his recent goal rush would not have gone un-noticed by some team looking to either up their promo push or to get them out of trouble, it will be a case of cough up or lose out

On the cash side of things... ... We lost the initial court case, the appeal will be held in feb (March?). ... It's later this month. "The appeal, which is likely to take three days, will be heard on January 26 or January 27, 2016".

Looking straight at it from behind the home bench, he didn't move his body into MT, it was an outstretched arm & an elbow straight in the kisser. The ref was probably 15 yards away, how he only gave a yellow is beyond belief given that he saw the exact same thing everyone else did. I found it inexplicable that referee Lee Swabey failed to give a red card for the elbow into Matt Taylor's jaw. It was probably the worst decision not to send someone off since the away leg at Forest Green when Charlie Clough kicked Will Puddy. The referee that day was...Lee Swabey.

Correct on both counts, I believe part of the 'Wonga' loan was used to pay off the £900k we owed Barclays as you've rightly said they wouldn't extend or renegotiate the loan we had with them.
