Gave up any interest in the team when Bristol Rovers WFC became Bristol Academy.

Gave up any interest in the team when Bristol Rovers WFC became Bristol Academy. You should have given up interest when Cable-Tel L.F.C become Bristol Rovers WFC then. We are a fickle lot aren't we.

They did it for me when the shirts changed. Irrational probably but could have easily gone to a more neutral colour if a move from Blue was needed - seems this was just one step to start the change to become BCWFC.
Laughable how some are trying to make out this will bring in more money?
Not sure how given if SL was gonna put more money in he would have to prevent them being relegated last season.
Seems he'd rather piss off any rovers fans that still support them than try to keep the Bristol fanbase unified. Seems rather petty to me.

Gave up any interest in the team when Bristol Rovers WFC became Bristol Academy. I find the same with Bristol RFC. But, he who sups with the devil should have a long spoon.

It's women's football, I never had any interest in it in the first place.

What like Wimbledon and MK Dons did? Bristol Rovers didn't have a ladies team only girls teams until Cable-Tel and their coach crossed the bridge. It was a merger between Rovers youth girls set up and a senior club (similar to Ashton & Backwell). Cable-Tel were two tiers bellow the top flight when Rovers took over the club. If they'd have started a senior team from scratch they'd have only come in a division bellow. Cable-Tel had advised the league they no longer wished to continue the next season.

Noticed a certain BBC sport reporter claim "the club could now be going places in a big way, with the backing of billionaire Steve Lansdown"
Umm like all his other projects?? Pah.

Most of us are Rovers supporters, so we support Rovers teams but not Academy teams, City teams or Cable tie teams. That doesn't strike me as fickle.

It was a marriage of convenience and formed a Bristol Rovers ladies team and that alone; it would be a Cable tie supporter lamenting the past. Although contradictory Cable tie didn't really become BRFC's ladies team, the players already working with Rovers did. Anyway enough said, and I think the response that was being looked for was about the change to Bristol City.

It was announced a while ago though and briefly discussed on the general football section. For what its worth, I think this was inevitable from the moment they stepped inside the 'Bristol Sport' franchisopoly.
Edit:"briefly discussed" is a bit of an exaggeration.

So what if they're changing their name? I mean, does anyone really care?
As soon as they moved there, it was only a matter of time before they would be indoctrinated into the franchise.
Anyway, I would much rather see our own Gas Girlies laying on a few balls instead..

What? Not changing their name to Bristol Sport WFC?
I feel let down by this.
