Will played the last 5 games leading up to Wembley with 2 different strains in the groin area, they didn't improve over the Summer forcing him to miss most of pre season training and all the pre season games. .....from the horses mouth last weekend!

Did he give any clues as to when he might recover as groin injuries can take a while to recover?

Can confirm this today. Saw WP at Yeovil today and wished him well, asked him how long he's likely to be out and he said about 10 weeks worst case scenario. Seemed to indicate he played with it over last part of season which made it worst. Really nice guy, open and happy to talk. Good luck to him.

Wow, almost another 3 months, odd we offered a contract to a player with such a significant injury, then again I suppose finances aren't a problem a club!

Wow, almost another 3 months, odd we offered a contract to a player with such a significant injury, then again I suppose finances aren't a problem a club! Perhaps it seems odd to offer a contract but come on, what kind of club are we? WP and SM played significant roles in getting us promotion. I would hate to have a club that after we get promotion say nah,we're not going to give you a contract. Last season was our darkest moment and through the effort of the players and managerial team we got promotion when the odds of it were stacked against us. I think DC would have lost a lot of credibility if he had turned round and said "no contract" to whichever player. When he starts to be hard this season he will have a lot more credibility through honouring his word over contracts and being loyal to those players who did the business (albeit in a lower league). Players need to respect the manager and I think they do but as in all areas of life you have to earn your respect from colleagues, I think DC does this through his actions. Problem is if course in this social media age every action is analysed, disagreed with and put up for disagreement and ridicule. It makes me laugh to think what Bert Tann and Bill Dodgin would make of it nowadays!

At one stage both of those keepers were arguably the best in the world. I have the belief Puddy can be as well. I think, there will always be someone prepared to argue that Puddy isn`t the best keeper in the world. Not me
