You earn your money more easily as a pundit, but I would be surprised if he doesn't get back into management at some time.

He'll be good at it, too. Knows his stuff, good sense of humour.
I'm sure he's just filling in before his next proper job though.

He was dismissed by Millwall and had two years left of a very lucrative contract and is still being paid by them. So why stress managing a team ....he will have a laugh on sky ....and we will enjoy it ......whats not to like
Hope to see him tomorrow at Kitey's Testimonial with his other mate Pulis

I think Kitey has been a great clubman (The Ashton years aside), but I would imagine that during his career , he has probably earned comfortably above the average wage. When I retire/get sacked/die at my desk from electrical wholesaling, which I have worked in all my life, I won't be getting any more than the pension that I saved for, and I expect that will be the same for most of us.
Anyway, I don't begrudge him a penny of it, I just think it's a slightly odd state of affairs.
(I won't be there btw, I will be having a thrilling weekend stocktaking in the Isle of Wight, if anyone has a penchant for counting electrical things, feel free to contact me)

Most players donate to it to charity, its more an excuse to get your mates round and have a kick around, and if you're loved by the fans, receive a bit of credit, i think it was Speronis testimonial at Palace earlier this summer, just looked like a good day out for all. Whats the harm.
As for Phil Kite earning more than the average wage over the years.. well good for him, he qualified as a physio and has applied himself to what he does. We could all make more money if we really wanted, its a choice we make.

I agree - but most players give it to charity these days. However, there is still justification in some cases. The original point of a testimonial was to raise enough for a retiring pro to kickstart their post football careeer. Hence run a pub etc. Phil Kite clearly already a very successful post football career so the purpose in his case is limited beyond a deserved acknowledgement for what he's done at the club. But for the likes of Lewis Haldane and other young footballers whose career's are cut short by injury I think there's a big a case. They could do with that money - given what young footballers have to sacrifice from their education in other areas a lot of them get in quite a lot of difficulties. So maybe there should be a recalibration of the testimonial idea away from the the 'few pounds raised for an old pro' concept towards helping youngsters who've had their careers cut short.

I thought your company was paying for a testimonial tour of England this September and October for you?
