Last Monday I went in to the shop and bought a book. I then asked about hospitality for Phil Kites testimonial. So I was directed to a lady in the office. I explained that my friends and family were on holiday but I thought I would treat myself, would it be possible to join a table as a single person. Yes she said no problem, but I am not dealing with it so if you give me your number XXXXXX who is dealing with it will phone you, later today, or perhaps tomorrow.
Well here we are one whole week later: anyone phone? Of course not, why would Bristol Rovers worry about ONE fan.
Anyway have now made different arrangements for next Friday, shame as I would have liked to have met Nathan Ellington again, especially as if it was not for me he probably wouldn't have played for Rovers, or even pro football.

What's the story with the Duke, I used to watch him knocking them in for Walton & Hersham. Happy days

You have to understand that EVERYTHING about Bristol Rovers is amateur and any expectations you have of being treated by a professional organisation should be dismissed. ONE DAY things might change - but don't hold your breath.

What's the story with the Duke, I used to watch him knocking them in for Walton & Hersham. Happy days I was working at Christs school in Richmond and one of the things I was in charge of was "admissions". His cousin Lisa who was already one of my year (I was Head of Year too) asked me to take him in, so got a report from his then present school, not good. But interviewed him and mum took him under my "special wing" (the don't even think about it wing) and watched him flourish, especially at sport. He won the U16 High jump in the Surrey games and then got in to the footy team. The sports teacher at that time used to play for Walton and Hersham, and did a lot of other things at the club, and so took him there.
The school team was very good at that time in the year above him was Jason Roberts: Jodie Morris and Clinton Morrison. The head teacher was Phil Don who was our ref at the Atlanta World Cup, and yes he did used to ref the kids games and wear his EUFA shirt!
It was a very good time for the school and for me.

Not everyone there is a volunteer Henbury. But I'd bet the lady in question passed on the message and it's the fault of the next in line.
However, when this sort of message bearing system was in operation in my former life, we made it the responsibility of both the person receiving the message, and the one it was passed on to. You could not disclaim ownership of the problem until it had been dealt with.

The top to bottom review concluded that we didn't score enough goals. Stop your bloody moaning.

The danger is, that after a couple of negative experiences, fans don't think it's worth the hassle of trying to book something up.

Its about attitude and culture. If an employee needs training to deal effectively with a simple enquiry then they should not be employed, paid or not. Attitude and culture eminates from the top, and from the well known book title on this "The Fish rots from the Head"

If there were a continuity issue then the volunteer, regardless of how well intentioned they are, has just become a liability. There need to be systems in place for paid and unpaid staff to operate within.

How do we know the OP didn't leave the wrong phone number? There are all sorts of reasons why it could happen and be excused; but not again and again and again and again and ...
