Thanks Dave. I am not sure what to think, I feel we are onto a hiding with Sainsbury's and everything hinges upon that. The directors leaving or being pushed makes it a two man show really and both don't leave me confident. No one said it would be easy being Gas but I never ever thought we could potentially be looking at the possible situation we could be looking at. Always lobed the craic with the lads and had even not really gone to watch football if honest. I am finding that it's best I don't even think too much about the politics as it just angers me and I can't handle that. I don't understand why so many think it's wrong to question and our fans are way too soft & accepting of the crap we have had. I lobe the fact that the lads are doing T shirts again. I remember your jumper, the Pirate running through a Robin with an hook. I never had one but always wanted one. Ha ha! I'll tell you a funny thing about the jumpers. I was getting my first t-shirts printed - it was the one with the Pirate on the front cutting the robin in half and the skull and crossbones and fixtures on the back. Anyway I got them printed through VMR publicity down on the docks, it was run by Vicky Rooke, ex beauty queen (think she was a Miss Bristol at one time, lovely girl). So they printed the back the wrong way round, i.e. the black was blue and the blue was black but to be honest it didn't matter, well she did them for me cheaper because of the mistake so that was a result, then when I was loading them up in the car, she says 'oh meaning to say Chris, got some jumpers here that someone ordered but they never paid for them or picked them up, would you be interested in them?' I take a look and what are they - only the said ones you just mentiowened Jules, ordered by Ash and Dempo I believe? Of course, I feign disinterest and say something along the lines of 'Nah, not really - no-one wants jumpers these days.' 'Oh go on she says, make me a cheeky offer and you can have them, they're just cluttering up the office.' Can't remember how much I paid but it was peanuts - think I shifted them up the Full Moon in one night - result! I hasten to add I didn't know at the time who they belonged to, found out later when Dempo wanted payment - think I bought him a pint I tried so hard to get one and even offered a silly amount to try to get one. I remember Dave wearing one, in the Essex. It was one of those things that happened in those days. Our lot would make the fanzines and various T shirts, sweatshirts and those jumpers. I never get rid of them and even if now too fat to wear them, I keep them as a memento of those days. I just get disheartened when I don't see the younger Rovers fans, take up the mantle. We seem to have a lot of budding film makers and I know a good few are on media study courses and a couple now graduated. One would think that it would be easier to get stuff set up to print and even print at home now but no one seems to want to bother. Pit was one of those things that I loved about being Gas, we had those people who got this stuff done. Imagine if the club were to switch on and take onboard the ideas. I have already been offered more than I paid? For the T shirt and yet come in for some stick, on social media, for saying the club should be doing this.

No it was later than early 80s Dave. Think it was our promotion year 1989/90, in fact I'm pretty certain it was, as I was working just around the corner from VMR's place at the time - which was near the SS Great Britain. But yep you're right about the Full Moon.

But yep you're right about the Full Moon. The landlords name was Jer I believe ? i know my eldest Brother used to play football with him and I was told he was a decent player. I was always a Royal archer regular and when we had the Sunday attempts by the Teds, Terry Blake and co, we would have so many in there. The two other pubs that we could always rely on if we needed it were the Lamb and the Full moon. No mobile phones in those days, looking back on it they Teds had some bottle turning up like they did. Funny how they were violent times but I look back on them with a romance attached to it. Those were days of boozers being full on lockout Blue or dull on Ted. You wouldn't dare go into a boozer with a City shirt on and I saw a couple of pretty well known local blokes get an hiding due to that. I was only young so? Even if I wanted to help, I never stood a chance. Poor old Tikey, a well known drunk from the Crowley family, got a bad beating one night. I felt so bad seeing that

I felt so bad seeing that Gerry Mogg, he runs the Swan in Hanham these days, or at least he did last I heard, I live in Hanham now, and see him about quite often. Would that be the Crowley family from Oldbury Court?

I always knew this Crowley family to be from around the Anchor pub area of New Cheltenham but there were a lot of them. The one my Brothers told me not to upset was nicknamed "spare" Crowley as, if he kicked off then he went spare there was Rich and a few more. Tikey was the eldest, they are RC so that's how our families were friends. I feel pretty chuffed that I remembered the name of the landlord, my eldest Brother (RIP) told me he could be a right handful too, I never ever put it to the test, I always felt kind of lucky that I got to hang around with the older Tote Enders and my Brothers. Thanks for letting me know. Much appreciated Rex

Rex his brother Dave was the landlord of the old bury court in the eighties he was a bit of handful had a couple of run ins with him .spoke to Gerry moggy recently he looks really well how he managed to control that place amazed me but he is a gentleman and also. A very good player in his day I still see a few of the old full moon mob and there were some real legends among them

How good it is to not have to rack my brain to try and remember. I end up going over and over silly stuff like that until I find out or it does my head in. I used to call Tikey secret Squirrel as, like you say, you just never knew where he would turn up and he walked, sometimes even cycled, all over Bristol but then, he would often get banned from boozers as he blagged money for pints. I always bought him a pint anyway as he was an old family friend and had served at her majesties pleasure with my brother, Henry. Those poor buggers were put in a special borstal which was run by Monks, in Kidderminster, because they were RC. The horrors of what those Monks tried to do to those boys is beyond anything I would even want to imagine. Both got relatively short sentences but served much longer because they never yielded to the abuse and kept knocking out those b-/ta.-s. Good to hear that Ger was a decent footballer, our Richard got on very well with him and I was then treated pretty decently because of their friendship. I do know the full moon was a dangerous place at times but, luckily, I was never on the receiving end of it. I think Ger kind of took me under his wing and kept an eye on me. Thanks for filling in the blanks guys. I will have to pop into the swan as I am pretty sure Ger would not know Richard had died. What teams did he play for please, I can then know which team or teams where they played together.

He certainly could handle himself, he must have been dead 5 or 6 years now, I knew his sons well, one of whom was briefly landlord of The Moon as well. The Rich Crowley mentioned must have been Dave's brother who I think played for Bath City. A certain ex Rovers player crossed Dave Crowley's path once, he certainly didn't ever do it again!

In his youth he played at a high standard western league I think in his later years played in the weds league on the downs Clifton St Vincent's I think in those days you could always get an early drink on weds in the moon but nothing like the early doors on a Sunday when you could have over a hundred in there if the local football was off people would come from all over Bristol
