Garry Thompson must have played against us in his career. Maybe for Cardiff sometime between 93 and 95? Yes, he was the one that occurred to me too.

Did Stuart Campbell play against rovers for Leicester City I doubt it. When Campbell was at Leicester they were a Premiership/Championship level club and I can't remember us playing them in the Cup in recent history.

Garry Thompson played against us for Cardiff at Twerton in 93/94. He didn't score. Can't find any other time that he played against us. Fairly confident that he hasn't scored against us. He was a coach at Northampton in the play offs of 97/98. Looks like he stopped playing the season before. I can't see him listed in my Rothmans Football Yearbook for any league games in 97/8 season. Certainly not as a player in the play offs. Northampton team at the Mem was Woodman, Clarkson, Frain, Sampson, Warburton, Hunt, Bishop (Peer), Dozzell (Gibb), Freestone, Gayle, Hill (Seal). At Sixfields was Woodman, Clarkson, Frain, Sampson, Warburton, Hunt, Peer, Heggs, Freestone (Brightwell), Gayle, Hil

My guess is no because before 2002 we had the proud history of never being in the bottom league and I think he only ever played in the basement league? I may be chatting s*** but he played for Mansfield and Hartlepool before we dropped down to league 2 We were in the bottom league for decades, it just wasn't called Division 4.

What a b*stard! Thanks for that, badhand. I knew Ollie the post at Twerton for Brentford. He obviously meant to hit the post.. Couldn't think of anyone else whom scored against us, then managed us. Big bad Bobby Gould? I don't know, I am just throwing it out there. He played for and managed virtually everyone so the chances must be high! Trollope scored against us at the Mem, for Fulham.

I'm sure I've seen a YouTube video of Trolls scoring by crashing the ball into the roof of the net at the South stand end, following a drilled cross from the "Alton Road" corner of the pitch. Can't find it now, though, unfortunately.
