No but it is the owner of the cars responsibility to ensure it is resubmitted for testing if they want to continue using it on the road. Of course as the owner you may consider the cost of repairs too expensive in relation to the value of the car and take it off the road. It rather sounds as if that's what Sainsbury's did. More like agreeing to buy a car subject to the result of a MOT test, but agreeing to fix specific problems should the car fail the test on them, them maybe doing a bit of a dodgey repair and failing the retest? Have to say, if I was selling that car and the price was £30,000,000 I would have had a chat with the tester to understand exactly what he wanted and would have cast an eye over the repairs before it was re-tested to make sure that it was going to pass. A bl**dy expensive car if you don't mind me saying

With £30 million big ones riding on it you'd like to think so wouldn't you ? Mind you in fairness us minnions were assured several times that the contract was 'water tight'.

It might not have sprung a leak just yet.

FC United were formed 10 years ago and move into their new ground tonight, Bristol Rovers Football Club have not bought and paid for a permanent structure at a ground since 1935. Did we not build a "family stand at Twerton?"

If its true that Sainsbury's never intended to build a supermarket at all then they are guilty of the emotional torture of 37,000 gasheads (the number at wembley).Absolutely disgusting behavior for an international company. If they were just buying it for land banking then why not just say so?

I think that the suggestion may be that all they were trying to do is prevent the site from falling into the hands of their competition. My sympathy goes to the good people of Horfield who were promised a 'much needed' supermarket, what on earth are they going to do now? And all those busnesses on Gloucester Rd that were ready to gear up their operations to meet the demand from people shopping in the supermarket and then wandering out of the site, turning left, left again at the lights and then walking 1/4 mile to imerse themselves in the local culture.

Yes Sainsburies you have an awful lot to answer for and for what ? a few percentile points on a profit sheet

But of course, 60 more in Horfield wouldn't have made the housing shortage worse. Community facilities? It was never really very clear what they were, there was some kind of hall but who would have access to it, and would that access be free? The stadium itself is the memorial, left in perpetuity. But as you say, as soon as money is introduced, everything seems to change.

I'd like to say to George, that it has never been my intention to shop at Sainsburys If Sainsburys win - I shall go to their shops as often as I can, fill my basket with frozen food, and when I get to the checkout leave the basket with a note "I have changed my mind" or "circumstances have changed and it is not worth my while to continue with the purchase" If we win I might actually pay for the goods! - but they might have to take me to court first!!
