Did anyone spot the black and white George's cross style flag with G T F C in the white quarters and Bristol Rovers along the cross? Or was I seeing things, only caught a glimpse.

Hope Grimsby are in the final. At least a proper club would be guaranteed of a football league return. Not a guarantee yet Obviously should have put us and Grimsby, jumped the gun a wee bit.

Grimsby won by two goals to one. And even better news: their drum is broken! great. I've been joining in with that song for years but never actually expected anyone to really shuve it up their own arse!!

It certainly said Bristol but couldn't see what the 2nd word was, I assumed it was a Grimby fan or fans living in Bristol

I was there at Northampton in the 90's, know all too well how things can change quickly. I have to say I was impressed with Turley, looks like he has finally come good. Also Shaun Pearson of Grimsby looks a player. Wouldnt mind having either of them in our team.

Don't want a s**thouse like him near our squad.

Anyone hear the interview with Richard Hill after the game? Said that the reason Barnet, Rovers and Grimsby are the top 3 is because we get the benefit of 50/50 decisions from the refs. Clearly he didnt see the game the night before, the bloke is an idiot. Listen here

Or indeed most of our games. If we do get out this season I would like us to petition the FA for a review of refereeing standards in this division, it's simply not consistent or good enough. The conference clubs, teams, players and fans deserve a much better standard of officials than they are getting.

Absolutely, the officials in the FL are consistently inconsistent but in the conference they are consistently awful. A lot of games i've seen are ruined by refs trying to make a name for themselves. Hill may have a point with Barnet who (as well as their almost weekly penalty) even on the last game should have only drawn 1-1 with better officials. Hill's team play act so much its like the boy who cried wolf, when they actually have a strong case their reputation precedes them I personally dont care who goes through, both are easily beatable.

A rovers /Grimsby final will almost certainaty generate a new record Att at wembley for a non league play off final The current record is held by Oxford vs York city which stands at 42,669 in 2010 Can see this getting smashed if we both get there Would be looking at a easy 55/60000 for sure

The conference clubs, teams, players and fans deserve a much better standard of officials than they are getting. This was done in a semi-professional cricket league I played in. Players moaned and moaned and moaned. The league instigated a review, half the umpires retired in protest and now they don't have enough umpires anymore and players have to do it themselves.....Surprisingly this did not improve the situation. Not saying that's an equivalent situation with the Conference but what are the incentives here? People seem to think officials fall out of the sky; personally I don't know what would possess anyone to want to do it right now, let alone kind of skilled talent people you'd want doing the job. There is a major crisis in this country of people being prepared to step up and do what is a very necessary for sports to function. Part of that is the relentless crap they have to put up with. I wonder how many people who consistently moan about officials have ever really tried to do it? I did it once in a works 5-a-side tournament and I was absolutely dire and it gave me a new found respect for referees. I think Conference officiating has been pretty much what I was expecting; more inconsistent than League officials and more likely to be swayed by external factors like the crowd, the momentum of the game and players in the ear.

It's not just the referees, the assistants are not assisting either. Clough had 2 red card offences on Wednesday and got away with both, with 3 officials on the pitch? I agree its not a nice job and wouldnt do it myself but they do, and as with any job their standards have to be kept at an acceptable level. Fans are paying money to see some games made into a farce from these people, its about time they were made accountable.
