Post on FGR forum:
"Collected a couple of East Stand tickets this morning having paid for them on-line yesterday morning. Saw a chap trying to buy tickets and being quizzed by our ticket office staff. At first he seemed very plausible "oh I come very match and pay cash so no history on the booking site". Anyway after a couple of other questions that he stumbled with he was asked to name some FGR players. "Simples" you would think - after all he watches FGR every home game??!! Anyway having just about named Parkin he couldn't name another single player. Result no tickets !. 1-0 to the FGR ticket office and quite right too !!"
Come on guys, do your research.

says on the FGR forum they are now quizzing people at the ticket office and turned someone away because they could only name Parkin! You couldn't make it up, a shambles of epic, epic proportions - and not from us for a change.

Probably genuine, most gasheads could surely name Coles, Pipe at least, plus Hughes, Parkin, Norwood - f******g hell they are turning away their own supporters.

Pipe, Coles and Clough - all ex Gas!! Sinclair - Stuarts brother! How did he mess that up! Well at least that shows Forest Green are not bluffing with the warnings they gave out yesterday.

Yeah, probably some local who didn't want to admit he was a fair-weather fan.

Think it was one of us trying to get a ticket and messed up not knowing any players. Hughes by the way dont play for them anymore so would have messed up with that.

Exactly - they're turning away genuine people who aren't massive FGR fans but just want to go to a game. I've just seen they also want people to provide a utility bill!! Fantastic stuff.

FGR website:
With ticket sales continuing today for Wednesday’s play-off semi-final first leg against Bristol Rovers at The New Lawn, the club would like to confirm that the match has been designated an all-ticket fixture.
Our opponents have already sold our their allocation for the North Stand, while FGR fans have been snapping up tickets for their sections ahead of the tie.
The ticket office is open until 7pm this evening for FGR supporters wanting to get their hands on tickets.
All purchases must be made in person. There are no longer sales online while it is also not possible to ring up the club to book.
The decision has also been made to stop sales at Ecotricity’s Unicorn House on Russell Street in Stroud.
Supporters are now also being asked for proof of identity when visiting the ticket office.
A driving license or passport, as well as utility bill, is needed to ensure only Forest Green fans are able to purchase tickets.
Ticket sales will end before the match on Wednesday at midday.

Now asking for photo ID and a utility bill....The lengths they're going to is ridiculous!

What a farce!
I live in Thornbury and could easily be a FGR fan!
Love the idea of a quiz to get a ticket! Starter for ten, what's the name of the bar at the end of the stand?

Wow. Just wow.
My Swindon mate reckons a few STFC fans have FGR as a second club... are they going to turn them away as well then?
They won't even sell out at this rate

They obviously don't need the money and are trying to take every advantage they can from the game and who can blame them. The answer is simple..firstly make sure we beat them on Wednesday and then make sure we make the Mem as hostile for them on Sunday as we can.Give them as few tickets as we can get away with and treat them the way they have treated us. Lets forget the clapping ex players and turn up the heat.

Not sure why they didn't do this yesterday as I guess that was the day most Gasheads would have the time to travel to FGR to buy tickets before Wednesday?
Although what does this actualy mean "A driving license or passport, as well as utility bill, is needed to ensure only Forest Green fans are able to purchase tickets" You have to live within x miles of their ground?

Are you telling me that all supporters attending a Forest Green match would know their team hundreds would be casual fans who wouldn't have a clue ! Proof of identity what a joke so you could live in Stroud, Dursley,Yate ,etc and you could support the Gas or Forest Green Our supporters are all round the country Perhaps we should handle sales of the away tickets for the memorial ground and ask their fans for proof of where they live
