There's a long list of young players who have been released by the club over the years, and most of them have drifted into obscurity. So it's good to see one who has fought his way back and looks as if he is playing well enough to get back into (proper) league football. Charlie Clough (still only 24) has done well at all of the clubs he has been at since leaving Rovers, and now seems to be putting in regular MoM performances at FGR. Well done lad.

Also great to see former trialist Jamie Turley making a real impression at Eastleigh. Well done Jamie.

Rejected by Buckle, replaced at more money with Adam Virgo. Same with Harry Pell.

Rejected by Buckle, replaced at more money with Adam Virgo. Same with Harry Pell. Put on the right wing in one game by Trollope when he came on as a sub in one night game. What chance did most of the youngsters have at that time? Laughable and cruel at the same time. And yes you guessed it, he was crucified by the knowledgeable crowd.

Was that Charlton away? Ahh good memories - apart from result!

One of the many victims of having no regular game time as we had no reserve team. Once promising players reached 18 they either had to go out on loan to lower ranked non league clubs or pretty much be patient for a place on the subs bench. A succession of managers prefer an experienced loan signing rather than give a youngster an opportunity.

Charlie Reece too had the same. Mom performance against Hartlepool on debut on the right wing but then never had a chance to develop. Last I heard he was retraining to be a hairdresser

Did Mitch Harding find a club for this season? Not according to Wiki: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_HardingI believe Brog went back to Germany, Clarkson went back to Scotland and Clucas went back to Ireland (and is probably celebrating his nation's day as write).

I blame Dan Druff at wingback.

I wonder if he enjoys his work. Or if, like us, he's unhappy with a Barnet in front of him...
