Be good to get in a pub close to Kiddie ground and watch the Dartford v Barnet match at 12.45?
I'm assuming it's on bt sport..
That's the third time I've posted that (other two being Barnet and Macc in early matches before away games and both ended favourably!).

i'm still waiting for my booking priority for getting drenched at Brighton in 1991, watching a bloody Dobson loss, and then getting an unscheduled 'rail replacement service' thrust upon me, several delays, and a scabby local bus as our 'luxury coach' You as well, eh Mehew? If there was a classification for the worst away game that I have ever attended, it would be Brighton & Hove Albion versus BRFC at the Goldstone Ground on 28 September 1991. Sounds like it might be the same game, eh? It rained continuously from the time that I arrived in Brighton (cats and dogs actually), and by HT I was literally drenched, And when the sun finally did come out I just stood there and steamed. I've even forgotten the score now, I was so keen to get away, but one thing that I do remember is that I developed bronchitis and was off work for a good time afterwards. THAT'S THE ONE!!! lost 3-1. Dobson's last lge game in charge. extract from 'Away The Gas' - ark at ‘ee up on yonder ‘ill with the gert big Sinclair beard & loads of funny animals
by Martin BullIf there is one thing guaranteed to cause a bit of controversy at a match, either on the terraces or on the pitch, it is torrential rain. I wrote the following away memory in the mid 1990’s when I lived in Ethiopia and had a lot of time on my hands. I rediscovered it only recently. “For the last seven years I have never lived in one place for long and this usually makes away games challenging and interesting. Challenging because I’m nearly always an exile without Rovers friends in the town, and interesting because I have to bungle my way to the ground by whatever means necessary. Have you ever seen a Buster Keaton film? Well, that’s me trying to get to away matches; with British Rail, dodgy directions and a complete lack of previous knowledge of that town contributing to my traditional ‘hanging off a clock face’ scenario. It usually means I’m either two hours early with no-where to go, or running to make the kickoff. One Saturday in September 1991 the strangely named ‘Sprinter’ train (an anomaly as it sprinted like Bernard Manning) crawled its way through the Wiltshire countryside towards Brighton. I’m sure this wasn’t how Stephenson had envisaged the future of trains. As I arrived at Hove so did Hurricane Git, imported by Brighton & Hove Albion from the Caribbean to force away fans to pay more to sit in the covered part of the away section. After a healthy lunch of Mars bar and crisps I sheltered in a door way, then under some stairs that smelt of pee, and then under a railway arch. It was absolutely gushing down and I started to worry about the game even going ahead. At some point I had to make a decision. Do I risk waiting for it to stop so I can go on the terrace, or do I get a stupidly expensive seat and risk looking a right fool if the rain abates? As I procrastinated someone who claimed to be ‘Devon White’s mothers, sisters, husbands mate’ offered me a cut price ticket. I was well suspicious but it looked legit and surely big Dev’s ‘mothers, sisters, husbands’ etc. wasn’t gonna rip me off? Sure enough the rain stopped the second I sat down. I hate sitting down, even with a cheap ticket. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! BAH! If they had big sofas to seat four fans per sofa then I wouldn’t mind so much, and if they had a little kitchen where you could go and brew a quick cuppa when the game lulled, I could also enjoy that, but simple little plastic seats do nothing for my pleasure spots. After the game (3-1 loss) I did more train waiting for the mammoth trip back to Bath. Sure it was boring but at least I had the comfort of a train... didn’t I? At Salisbury we were hastily turfed off the train and told a bus was waiting for us. Oh, great! I pay for a train, not a bus, because I like trains. In situations like this I make sure the people in ‘authority’ realise I’m not happy with their shoddy service, so I stomped around the carriage letting off steam to various BR peons. I hate buses, especially ones borrowed from the local bus company (why not hire a proper coach?) and full of half-drunk kids and parents who should know better. On a train you can usually get away from this rabble, but not in a claustrophobic bus. We finally got back on a train at Westbury, which then sat in the station for a further 40 minutes just to take the mick out of us.”

Move it to Birmingham! They're away Easter Monday, and we like going there. We would have advantage with the decor though Why not eh? Worcestershire moved cricket mmatches to Kidderminster. Talking of Worcester, the rugby ground has a much bigger capacity than Aggborough, and is free that day. After playing at Halifax and seeing the condition of their pitch, there may be a good reason not to move it to the Worcester rugby ground Worcester Warriors ground is usually a Premiership ground in top condition, Aggborough is unfortunately home to Kiddy & Worcester City and depending on the weather could be in for worse state that Sixways. As BSS lives just down the road from Aggborough hopefully he has his hear to the ground re any attendance issues.

Worcester Warriors ground isn't used for football matches though and if you look at grounds like Bath, Gloucester, Leicester which also are rugby only grounds you wouldn't want to be playing a game of football on them. The one exception of a rugby only pitch is Northampton Saints, Franklin Gardens usually has a superb pitch, Saracens have an entirely artificial plastic type pitch. Shared grounds like Reading, Coventry, Oxford have a desso pitch which is grass with artificial grass woven in and wear better.

You'd like to think our Fans Directors/Supporters Club officials would be keeping a keen eye on what is happening with the away support after what happened at Woking and making sure there is proper communication between the two clubs about our potential support, not just leave it to chance or hope someone at Kiddiminster thinks about it. It's a Bank Holiday, 1500 tickets is no way going to be enough regardless of where we are in the League. If the Health and Safety certificate needs amending for this game to allow more away fans in, now is the time to start applying for it and lets not hear from one of our club officials wringing their hands saying well we tried ringing them up on the day but they wouldn't allow anymore in. Come on Rovers, lets be proactive about this I always thought those that were locked out would have got in if they had gone to the game earlier. Going to the pub and turning up at 3 was their downfall I fear

I'd put good money on Sixways pitch being in far better condition than Halifax's or Dartford were this season! Although, hopefully, with the decent spell of weather of late Aggborough should be in reasonable condition on Easter Monday, assuming Worcester City don't wreck it 2 or 3 days beforehand with their Easter home fixture.

I got mine yesterday along with my Macc tickets. Got a few mates planning on going that haven't got any priority so I asked on their behalf if there was any danger of them missing out and Kay (who was in an uncharacteristically good mood) said there were plenty left.

I always thought those that were locked out would have got in if they had gone to the game earlier. Going to the pub and turning up at 3 was their downfall I fear What, was the away end bigger at half two or something? i am assuming that as there were so many turning up all of a sudden in a rush to get in, the 'panic button "was pushed in order to prevent a possible incedent and refuse entry at that time, whereas IF those had turned up earlier, JUST possibly stewards may have been able to "manipulate" the attendees inside to move along a bit and make just a little more space enabling those unfortunate enough to be locked out to gain entry... just a thought,,,,,,,,,,,
