this weekends fixtures Chester V Grimsby Eastleigh V Barnet Halifax V Bristol Rovers Forest Green V Braintree Gateshead V Macclesfield
FGR should be a banker but chester are in fair form and beat Torquay last night , eastleigh are flying , Halifax have dropped off a little but anything can happen on that pitch of theirs, Gateshead are no pushovers for Macc
Chester V Grimsby - i reckon a draw (best result obv a chester win) Eastleigh V Barnet - eastleigh win for me (draw would be a useful outcome , slows Eastleigh up a bit and keeps Barnet below us) Halifax V Bristol Rovers - can see a dour draw but cant see a defeat at all ( 3 points would be huge!) Forest Green V Braintree - only one outcome here 3 pts for the vilaage criminals Gateshead V Macclesfield - thinks this will be a draw (gateshead win would be lovely)
my perdicted table by the end of the weekend
1 Bristol Rovers 39 - 74 2 Macclesfield 39 - 72 3 Barnet 38 - 71 4 Grimsby 38 - 69 5 Forest Green 39 - 68 6 Eastleigh 37 - 66

Macclesfield have only managed 2 goals in their last 4 games played and have scraped results (bit like us!), I think Barnet will beat them - Akinde Penalty?, it's a wide open title race....COYB!.....

Red card in the first half hour and a penalty to Barnet, how many times has this happened this season?
So long as we do our job properly first by getting all 3 points, then hopefully we can get a favour or two from elsewhere.
Oh and although I don't see Eastleigh as any title threat (too late in the day for their recent surge) I can see them crushing Barnet on Saturday!

Wouldn't it be nice for a change to see their best player get injured for 6 weeks. Them to get a red card and them to concede a penalty

Don't see how you can say Eastleigh are out of it as if they win their two games in hand they will only be 4 points behind us. In other words beat Barnet saturday and they could be within a point of us if they win their games in hand and we lose at Halifax. There again if we win at Halifax and they lose to Barnet then I would agree with you. Its all about how we react to last weeks defeat which is why Saturdays game is such an important game.

Plus of course it would bring two of the contenders up to the same number of games played as ourselves, and two more having played a game more than as us. Of all of the major contenders that would only leave Eastleigh trailing in the number of games played. This would give us an accurate sight of where we actually are, and I don't believe that it's necessarily ideal to be top of the table as you become a target. But to return to faggoty's point, I quite agree. In fact it could almost be a blessing in disguise.

Just spoken to work colleague in Halifax. Weather not good and snow on the Pennines. Pitch very wet and heavy. Not good news.

BTW - I don't think it would be bad if off. The picth couldn;t be worse for a re-arranged game, and halifax might be even more tired then! Easter gets extra week. No-one has played more games than us, so we've hardly go a fixture backlog. I can't wait for the day most of the top 6 have played the same matches! Aldershot can be our bounce back match instead of Halifax away. Not taking Shots lightly though. They have good form.
