Port Vale but not starting regularly. Would be a fantastic signing, but seems unlikely?

The type of player that would be perfect for us, would add height, presence & attacking quality to the team, and since he left us our corners and freekicks have been awful. I would be amazed if he came back, but his signing would show that the BoD are serious about promotion.

If he's still got the legs those driving runs he does once or twice a match into the area would invite some mistimed tackles!

I think that after Ian Holloway, Chris Lines is next in line for the award of ''The Person Who Divides BRFC Supporters Opinion The Most.''
Still if he does come in and do a job, there's an excellent chance that he'll win the doubters over and redeem himself.

I think Chris has grown up a lot since then, and being he'd be "coming home" as such, we could have a wiser and quality player for this level anyway.

At this level he should be better than most,as he was and is better than Stanley or Pell, and they were to good for our midfield yesterday. Can not see it happening though

Can't see it happening. Love it if it did though.
Get the Filton Avenue lad back to help his club win a title!

give me hungry players like sinclair with fire in their bellies all day long Don't you mean give me injured players like Sinclair? I'd welcome CL with open arms, he was the main midfield driving force in a very poor team. Lazy, nah. If you are the runner in a midfield then you know when and when not to make runs. CL one of our best home grown talents and given his situation when his Dad died and then to be treated like crap by Buckle I think he did remarkably well. Of course there is a large section of "fans" who always assume that other clubs players that we sign are better than the ones that we produce, which of course is absolute bollox. And then of course there is the other section of fans who single out players to blame all the clubs woes on. Cureton. Boris. Worrell. and on and on. Thankfully I think that these "supporters" are starting to disappear (or perhaps they have found solace at the Gate) If he comes home then I for one would welcome him.

Was never his biggest fan because I don't think he contributed very much to the team - he couldn't tackle, meaning we lost most midfield scraps, and he rarely passed forward.
He did, however, score some good goals with forays into the box and his set-pieces were relatively good. He liked to get forward and was more attack-minded than anything else, which is the one thing we don't have in our current crop of midfielders. I think he and Mansell would do a good job, particularly if he has toughened up since he left us.
Not sure it will happen, but I would be quite pleased if it did because he's a local lad, will be desperate to make a contribution and could be perfect us right now.
