I think once Mildenhall let that ball go through his legs it was over. We were due a bad one, and this was it, we miss a creative midfielder. That's it

Can anyone remember that stinker we had at Trumpton in our promotion season? Probably about the same stage of proceedings too. I vaguely recall it but can't remember who it was against or the score!!
Lets take it for what it was. After an incredible 20 game unbeaten run the whole team had an off day. Other results went our way. We dodged a bullet.

Leadbitter highest rated again, Steve. That's a surprise.

Not trying to be (too) clever but couldn't have been twerton in 1989\90 because we didn't lose at home that season. Maybe you are thinking of losing 3-1 at notts county with 4 games to go? That broke an 18 match unbeaten run. They were 3rd and suddenly only 2 points behind us! City 4 points clear. Squeaky bum time... Ha. City bottled it big time. Totally agree with yoiu, re Eastleigh.

We obviously do not know what goes on on the training ground. My main theory about Easter is that, after the beard got injured, although in a different way, DC does not want to risk him until he is fully fit including long contact sessions - the other theory I'd rather not say. Perhaps it's the second one then as he risked Clark yesterday!

My feelings are that the result was inevitable. I can't work out whether DC is a good or lucky manager. What frustrates me is that he has to keep changing the side at half time because his original selection is not doing the business. Felt Leadbetter was unlucky to be taken off.

As long as he is a winning one, I'm happy.

I'm not sure what's going on with Mildenhall at the moment, there appears to be a degree of uncertainty between him and the back four at the moment as if they aren't very confident with him. It's been that way for the last few games and certainly yesterday was very evident. His distribution (which is very slow) and kicking isn't as good as Puddy but probably his shot stopping and his seniority is keeping his place. That was an extremely bad error of his on Saturday and we never recovered from it.

LJG, The best of a very poor bunch yesterday. Wish he at 5.5 had been the worst but it was not the case in my eyes. In all honesty none of the players other than Balanta when he came on can look back with any pride in this performance. if you saw it differently then fair enough-one of the joys of football. Just as a matter of interest I have just looked at the marks given by fans and the majority of the 27 (only 2 or 3 different) marked Leadbitter as the best defender so maybe my marking can be taken seriously!!!

You can add me to those who thought Leadbitter was our best defender and player out of a very poor all round team performance. Thought it a very strange decision to take him off.

I'm suggesting after the beard's second unrelated injury that DC would not take risks at this stage, Ollie must have been fully fit, and so his selection was not a risk.
