Personally I couldn't care less who resurrects us from our present malaise so long as someone does, and if Gary Johnson is deemed to be that man then so be it. I have no problem with any of Johnson's previous employers, neither do I have any issues wth DC's current management of team affairs. My only concern is what is best for BRFC. So I'm bound to ask whether (or not) we could afford Gary Johnson, hypothetically speaking of course. If we could afford him I think that he could make a real difference to the team, and crucially results. He might give the present manager a little of his professional insight . . . and more of course
DC still Team Manager of course.

IF he were approached. following the scenario of..... hopefully not, a Clarke failure to deliver promotion back to the football league , would that affect any one's want to go and watch the rovers? and would the Board even approach him........ would add that i am currently a virtual watcher from the outside, and VERY Rarely go nowadays, but i would not like to see the bloke at BRFC and would therefore stay further away IF he were to be appointed

I go quite a lot but would go a lot less if Gary Johnson was involved.

It's am interesting thought LPGas, and one that hadn't occurred to me. But I was thinking in purely footballing terms.

A God sent opportunity to end this dreadful malise that has engulfed this club over recent years. With his appointment it will be goodbye to crap signings month in month out. Within a year we will have a proper football team and be on the brink of automatic promotion with a team that will be a force in Div 2 something that most definetly wont happen this year. Great contacts proven track record and with resources available to him that we can offer the only way is up. The alternative whether or not we go up this year will be a season of absolute agony next.. He is the proven experienced manager we have been wishing for for years. Even this Board can see that im sure.

and as quoted in a previous post, a team made up with a majority of loan signings, itching to play for the "shop window" and not give a hoot about who they are playing for,

I think he is one of those chaps with "small bloke syndrome" - have to say he has generally done well since coming in from Latvia. Don't forget he put us on to Vitalys Astafjevs. However I too don't really like him, not sure why but probably because he was a s**thead for so long! We hate Gary Johnson etc etc says it all really.

Ditto on that one, I'm sorry to say. I took the MM bait hook, line and sinker. I could barely believe it when it all started to go wrong, and even on reflection it still seems a good appointment . . . well, on paper at least. I don't think that he was prepared to put the hard graft in, and was (possibly) still a little ''jaded.''

Say what you like about the squeaky one's track record, he would never work out here because of his link to the (mens) soccer subsidiary of Bristol Sport. A couple of poor results and he'd get a worse time than even Darrell Clarke from a fair number of fans!

He seems a man slightly lacking in ambition to be honest. He took City to the brink of the Prem but then didn't really use that to continue to manage at that level. He's then seemed quite happy to see his career stagnate with Northhampton and Peterborough (which both seemed odd decisions at the time for a guy with his CV) before returning to his comfort zone at Yeovil. The only reason he'd want to come to us is for the geographical convenience. He seems like someone winding down his career; Rovers only ever seem to have any success with managers trying to make their way in the game. Our record under experienced 'names' is absolutely appalling.

Much like Harry Redknapp, Gary Johnson is a fraud. I don't want him to come within a 10 mile radius of The Mem. Unless he's doing a midweek shop
