Hmmm, what do you guys think of a club representative, Mr Ian Holtby, singing with a few other blokes, "Your s**t, and you know you are" at very close quarters, to the Dorchester subs as they were warming up on the touchline?
I cannot believe the club employs an uncouth clown like that. Thoroughly embarrassing.

Really? He is a representative of the club with quite a high profile position. I thought it was in very bad taste and not appropriate. Denis Dunford would've taken a very dim view of that. I can't imagine Gordon Bennett would've done anything similar.

Couldn't care less. He wasn't at work and he was enjoying his day out. What's the problem? I think it's rather a fine line though, he was doing this in what was effectively his employer's place of work on Saturday. |

I just hope that none of them were black or foreign, or else we may well be hearing (even) more from the Football Association, and that's the last thing that we need at the present time as it will mean even more apologies by the club, and red cards etc. As you say alloutofgas it's absolutely and totally embarrassing, as well as being totally unnecessary as well, particularly so from a club representative. As one person at least claims that he was ''enjoying his day out,'' I would question that if Ian Holtby chooses to spend his day of rest shouting abuse at total strangers(?), then is he a suitable person to be employed in a high profile position by BRFC? I just hope that he wasn't filmed in his foolishness, like the clown who was punching an opposition player through the back of the goal net. But then again he was probably just enjoying his day out as well. |

Well said Brizzle, there is virtually no difference at all between the two incidents. After all singing "you're s**t and you know you are" as part of a crowd to a team losing 5,6, or 7-1 is exactly the same as racist abuse and physical attacks on players. Good comparison.

So is a senior club employee shouting foul abuse at the opposition players acceptable, that seems to be the question. Personally I think not, but then that's just my opinion. I would have hoped that a person with the acumen and intellect to perform his duties with the club, would have the common courtesy and good grace to direct his passion and commitment in a more mature way. I dread to think what the reaction of Box 1 might be (if they follow Mr Holtby's example) at the next home game, when they're directing their passion and commitment at the opposing players and Directors.  |

If he was singing Irene and doing the mildly inebriated stuff then fine. If he was a 'normal' fan, then fine, terrace banter. But he is employed by the club. With all the crap thrown our way lately, Mr Holtby should conduct himself appropriately.

Is this post a joke?? If you can't have a bit of banter anymore at a football game anymore you might as well ban all fans. Would their players even know who he is??? My guess would be no! Fans sing things like this all the time, a bit of banter is completely different from being racist.

he goes with the boys on many away day fair play to him, was there yesterday had good banter with their players warming up on the corner, they gave as good as they got by the way. thank god i'm still classed as a bloke and i'll be blokin again at telford, without it it will be pretty boring won't it !
