Morning all two comments from DC on the local station this morning.
1. We won't have the biggest budget in the Conference.
2. We are unlikely to pay a transfer fee for any player coming in.
Any thoughts?

I imagine Eastleigh have the biggest budget.Darrel Clarks budget will probably be above 5th tier average.
What with the wages release of those who have left and are yet to leave there ought to be a saving.
I think DC knows the 5th tier and can give us a team that challenges within two seasons, one with abit of luck.
Thing is,the Box 1 factor may see it all get even worse yet.

A) thank God for that - look what's happened on big budgets in last 3 years. FGR, Gateshead, Grimsby, Wrexham, presumably Eastleigh will all have decent figures to work with but lots will not - Braintree, Dover, Macclesfield, Kiddie, Hereford, Nuneaton - the list is much longer. B) little point paying fees with the number of out of contract players available. A fee generally means other costs and inflated salary.
About time we cut our cloth accordingly, however with some big earners off the books DC will have plenty of budget to work with at this level.

He also said recently we would be likely to sign a player by the end of this week, now according to the NH non-update it is likely to be next week; same ol' same ol'.

Actually DC said that we would look to get a player in at the end of this week or possibly early next week at the latest.

Any thoughts? Sounds like when Paul Buckle said he would be happy with tenth place. And assuming Harrold, Mildenhall, Parkes, McChystal and Smith stay and they offer Brown enough, they alone would swallow the budget of a lot of L2 clubs. Does DC intend recruiting Part Timers.

I was told by a Salisbury season ticket holder their total playing budget for 2013/4 is £400k, around 25 % of ours last season?
Also they are all going to Salisbury managers wedding on Sat, where DC is best man!

We just signed one of their players, so isnt it of interest their whole squad cost less than 3 of ours? Puts our position in wages league table into some form of context, and if we finish below Salisbury even more questions to ask!

Aren't Eastleigh still part time? I can't imagine Constable and Midson's wages would immediately push them to the highest payers. Tom Parkes probably earns more than the pair of them.

They must be full time now, surely? Especially if they're attracting FL players. Looking online they've been talking about it for a few years, 'making steps' etc. but no official confirmation. I'd be amazed if they were PT.
