Given all the circumstances, it must be a negotiating tactic surely?

No surprise to me.Alfie a decent winger,as was Broghammer.
So for all those who slagged him off cause he wasn't a big bloke, well did you ever play football, what do you actually watch in a football match and what the flying f do you expect from a winger!
Could'nt you see his ability to cross a ball without beating/going around the defender!
His first touch is excellent!
His distribution is intelligent.
Obsessed with big players, sounds more like visiting bunch of groupies rather than anyone who reads the game!
For fss sake!
s*** club!

I'm surprised it is him, but I suppose he may become - oddly - one of those players who will perform better in the higher leagues than in the Conference or similar. Looks like its a done deal in principle, just whether Hull will put a better offer on the plate or take it to a tribunal.

F*ck me a chance for the board to go from zeros to ..... something above zero & they stuff it up. Incredible. Selling Santos (for anything) would've turned them into footballing genius's.

Well, not really, it's a negotiating tactic as said above. Rovers will get some money via a tribunal if Santos decides to go to Hull. Its now about whether Rovers wish to accept a direct fee from Hull or take it to a tribunal. The 'fee' must have been pittance, because most Conference clubs get bugger all at tribunals going by what Hereford got last year.

Actually The strategy is too build a team completely devoid of talent. A sort of mirror image of the board

Darrel Clark will try and have us passing, with wingers.Santos and Broghammer would of been brilliant! Ward really f**ked up our season, him and Higgs! s**t tactics, don't pass the ball, definately don't score etc.. We've a few decent players, but upon my life,Ward was destructive! Alfies a good footballer and I mean footballer.

Some people expect instant consistent brilliance from first year pros and want to railroad them out of the squad at the first sign that they are human and not footballing gods. Let the lad develop for goodness sake. If we'd have had a balanced squad last season he would have had half a dozen sub apps at most. However, we had to ask a boy to do a mans job and then criticise him when he's found not to have developed enough yet. Cut him some slack and get back to being supportive fans rather than dispiriting morons driving the player away from the club with a bad taste in the mouth and a feeling that they weren't ever given a chance by fans used to instant success on their FIFA 2013

Taking out apparent attitide problems, i would say Harrison was a better option. He has more raw materials then Alfie.
Best of luck to Alfie if he wants to go, but i dont see him breaking into a premier league team

Alfies a good footballer and I mean footballer. I disagree Bas - he has potential to be a good footballer - he wasnt ready this season but got thrown in to a struggling team out of desperation. He gave the ball away too often and has one trick which defences work out very quickly to shut him out of the game.

Woeful player who never impressed me when i saw him play. Lightweight and just doesn't know what to do with the ball when he gets it. You can only talk about his age so much and then you eventually have to scratch the surface and say there doesn't seem to be a player there who will make it as a pro. Never understood why DC offered him a deal and seems to rate him, that's one point so far I've got down in my DC negative file. I'd happily pay to get rid of him, any fee with a zero on the the end should be taken.
