When we were in league one/two, we would always say "send out our young ones to the conference to gain experience". Now we are in the conference, our youth should not be playing?
18, in the conference? Get them in the side and see what they can do!

I agree with the posts about trying out the young ones heavily in pre-season. There are a few 17/18 year olds who played very well in the Western Premier League last season. Anyone who knows local football will know that isn't a mess around league whatsoever. Now im not saying that we should sign these players but we should take a look at giving them trials for the academy perhaps. One 16 year old lad notched 25 odd in that league last season. Not sure any of our current U-18 crop would be able to do that.
Just realised how off topic I am...

Mildenhall would be a great plus for Rovers in the 5th,a start to building a good spine.
If he decides to leave Rovers for Glos Robins then you have to wonder why he apparently has no confidence in Rovers making a quick return to the FL.

Yes, we would send them out on loan to smaller local sides a bit further down the pyramid such as Yeovil or Cheltenham.

If they pay, Mildy has every right to leave. He has one of the smallest - if not the smallest - amount of blame in the entire squad for relegation, plus he's been in good form for us since he arrived on loan the first time, made no more than 5 or 10 bad games.
That said, I'd very much like him to stay and maybe "tutor" Preston on and off-pitch.

Kept us in a lot of games last season and would be a massive bonus in the Conference if he is to stay. An experienced keeper is needed next season from what I have seen of the conference last year at FGR.

At the end of the day Mildy initially chose us because we were close to his home in Swindon . The same is true of Cheltenham.
Having said that Cheltenham faded last season and whilst they have done really well in the past they have a non league ground and a low fan base which suggests that their potential is limited . I suspect that he wanted Rovers to be his last move and maybe he is better off staying with us for at least 1 more season as theoretically we should offer a better long term proposition that Cheltenham. Lets face it we have better support and if the stadium comes off we will have the potential to operate at a different level.
The big " if " of course- is " can Rovers get our act together ?".
Whichever way he chooses we have to wish him well
