Let’s get to 52 points and be thankful for that. Those of my age would give an arm for a Vaughan Jones, Steve Cross, Ian Holloway to bring authority and order on the pitch. No, they'd be past it now.

The Evening Post ratings are a joke.
Have they ever given anyone less than 5?
The scale is 0 to 10 so 5 is an average performance and when we are dire the lowest is 5.
We need to see some 1,2 and 3's.

Rovers are getting points where we don't expect them to, and dropping them when they shouldn't. So tough to call. Bookies have it (roughly) as: Rovers slight favourites to win at 6-4 Draw 5-2 Cobblers win 7-4 A stronger mentality was on view Stevenage... hopefully we're going to get harder to beat. I'll go for a 1-1 draw. I certainly wouldn't be rushing to back us at 6/4. One of those games where no result would surprise me. Betting is truly a mugs game. Long story but in short, got into 14k of debt at 19 yrs old. The shame nearly had me do something silly, very much so. I confessed to my then live parents, they paid it but I made a promise NEVER to bet again, I still keep to that even though my folks are no longer with me. Took me 7 years to trickle it back, lucky my folks were so good. I was looking at prison as I had ignored the debt, told lies to bailiffs etc. The problem comes when the win is not enough and you start to place bigger bets, to win more. Greed incarnate. so endeth todays lesson, brought to you via gasheads.org. Never be ashamed to seek help, people turn , more, to gambling in harder times.

Just got back... From an on off iFollow. Seen the 1st, 3rd & 4th goal....but after 35 mins it decided enough was enough until second half. In all honesty, it done me a favour as it was probably more frustrating watching that pile of drivel. No midfielders? No defence, morelike... first goal was again atrocious defending reminiscent of relegation season. We seem to not decide to play until the game is almost lost, but there again we are seeing beach players probably in the last embers of their Gas careers....MT post match comments allude to that....why not start some of them in flip flops or crocks? Crocks more apt. Some shining performances from afar. Really liked Vaughan, lively performance my m o m (!) Why not? Baggot looking useful, except when he took the shot off of Hunt after that mazy run. Decent assist. Keeper made some good saves. Our crossbar played a blinder too. One thing....nice one, ref!? I never realised a deliberate shirt pull in the pen area was ok? Also....if you stand still minding your own space and a player comes in over and above you and crashes you to the ground - you're the one who's committed the foul!? Absolute numpty. If it wasn't for CM we'd be in the sh!t....I still tip him to make 20 goals in this very unforgettable season. At the end of the day, not good enough. Again. MT subs did affect change but we rightly got beat by the better team. MT says change is in air as unacceptable conceding goals in that fashion. We'll see. My point is .... If it isn't the right time to blood some of your own now, when is it? Too many senior players aren't turning up.... Wilson Crama Grant poor. Why not mix it up with Connolly back and Lawrence Jones and Greenslade? I honestly wonder what we would have to lose? Hope I am very wrong but I do not feel MT will stay, not if we continue in this vein and with junior sticking his oar in. IF I bet, I’d stick 50 on Taylor leaving

Bristol Rovers player ratings vs Northampton: Martin scores 13th goal of the season in defeat..By Daniel Hargraves.Jed Ward - 6 A familiar story where, despite conceding three goals, the goalkeeper didn't actually have much to do having faced four shots on target. Jack Hunt - 6 The right-back whipped in some cracking deliveries but they didn't materialise into anything of note. A couple of giveaways he won't be happy with. Would love to know his preference on full-back or wing-back because the 33-year-old certainly seems to fare better playing the former. i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9106656.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_3547337.jpgJames Wilson (Above) - 5 It's tough to justify giving the central defender a higher score on a day where Rovers conceded three goals and where he also got booked. Like all of his teammates, just not his best day at the office. Tristan Crama (off for Elkan Baggott 46') - 5 The centre-back had a few uncharacteristic moments as the Gas conceded an early goal before taking some time to settle down. It looked like Rovers were settling into the game and were in control before the second proved to be a sucker punch. Crama was brought off at the break, not 100 per cent sure of the reason. Lewis Gordon - 6 The left-back seems to be going under the radar a little bit. Similarly to Hunt, not his best game defensively but going forward the 23-year-old looked a major threat and has a cracking delivery on him. Josh Grant (off for John Marquis 66') - 5 It has to be noted that some of these players played well out of position this afternoon given the shortage and Grant was one who was in unfamiliar territory in the middle. Had some decent moments but didn't look comfortable in a tricky game for the Gas. Harvey Vale (off for Harry Vaughan 46') - 6 Good to see the Chelsea loanee back on the pitch quickly but evidently his minutes had to be managed. Amid the midfield shortage, the 20-year-old was dropped deeper than he probably would've liked and did well enough considering the circumstances getting the occasional challenge in and trying to get his teammates moving. Luke Thomas - 6 A couple of bright spells on the ball but wasn't able to grab the game by the scruff as firmly as he did on Tuesday night. Jevani Brown - 6 Didn't quite get into the game as much as what he would have liked. As mentioned in the live blog, Northampton actually defended very well for the majority of the game with some vital blocks in there. The attacking midfielder just couldn't find a way to be as effective as he has been of late. Scott Sinclair (off for James Connolly 72') - 6 Honestly, the winger is pushing a seven having looked like the most likely player in blue and white to create anything of note in the final third in the first half and had probably the Gas' best chance of the match with a curling effort going just wide. Although not the result anyone wanted, not a bad first league start in nearly four months. i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9107281.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_3552270-1.jpgChris Martin (Above) - 7 Goal number 13 for the striker. A proper poacher's finish and he may well have thought he was going to bag another late on as the Gas looked to claw a way back into the game. Substitutions:Harry Vaughan (on 46') - 7 A lot more like it from the Hull City loanee. Got on the ball regularly throughout the second half and looked to make things happen. Much improved. Elkan Baggot (on 46') - 7 Another much improved display despite the result. The young defender came on and made the intended impact in the final third given his height, assisting Martin's goal. Almost looked as though he'd scored for himself late on. John Marquis (on 66') - 6 Almost scored with one of his first touches after coming on and used his body well to try and make things happen for his team. James Connolly (on 72') - 6 Didn't have too much to do but looked a threat from corners. Having not been to a game since the lunatic was employed, I only ever stream games. Martin is a unit, that photo makes it look even more so

She who tries to get me to obey calls me childish and a wannabe gangster 😂. Oh how good it is when your significant other has no idea of your past but also connections. Once you have been part of that kind of life, you can bet that eyes and ears are on you. Yes, I do have huge regrets. I still read and collect books, I have a huge amount on cosa Nostra and its history plus English and British organised crime. I met Eddie Richardson last year, got invited by John H Stracey. His book is great, well worth a read. Got it signed too. Called the Krays poofs, the pair of them and referred to poofing them of ( sic) when they became irritating. Not PC but the guy is very old yet had us all entranced Attachments:

I think I'd stretch to a whole £1 myself though. I sometimes wish I had not given my word to never bet but IF I could just place small , I know I would not, I think i’d do well. Greed is still my driving force. As I said, a mugs game but at least you can now cash out, something not available to the younger and foolhardy me. Strange fact for the day, I sometimes, even now, have a ridiculously vivid dream, more like what Native Americans call a vision. They always come true. When Poland got beat, by Germany, in the semi final. My entire family placed bets on my visions. They all made some nice amounts, even when I told them Poland would lose. Later in life, both Beckenbauer and Müller both said the better team lost. Many will not know but Polands team was 95% army. Deyna was a lieutenant don’t you know. Anyway, as you were. Sorry for going off topic and on a different tangent

Cosa Nostra? Gli uomini nel vaso di fiori. Must admit, IF you were trying to get a rise then what you did was to make me belly laugh. One thing i have learned and the hard way at that, never underestimate nor judge anyone. That was a piece of advice from my father, i never listened and paid the price. I still worry. About talking of certain things, even now.

Gambling addiction is like any other addiction an illness KP though I’m certain you know that. It can really wreck lives if you have that addictive gene and cannot resist one last spin on red. Along with alcohol and tobacco I think it is one of the most dangerous things in society today as it is freely available and doesn’t carry the stigma of class A drugs. I’m really thankful I don’t have that addictive gene (for these things) and almost never bet and am almost teetotal now having overdone binge drinking in my youth. But for the fickle hand of fate it could so easily have been me instead of some other misfortunate person

It hurts to shut people off, especially when they have done you no wrong but, just by being around them i get triggered. I also now do not drink but that is down to medications and side effects, i do have the gene. It’s all or nothing, in my case. It can be a royal pain when others try to force a drink or bet. I do vape though but have cut that down, significantly. Used to vape a 100 ml bottle a day with 18mg nicotine, now on 30 ml at 3 ml. That will suffice as it’s one of the few things i can still enjoy and not have to get paranoid about. Having lost so many, i totally understand what you say of fate. I am supposed to be the sick one yet, of a circle of 8 of us, i am the only one alive 😞
