Despite our recent atrocious run of form and performances, I'll be setting my alarm for 3:50 am to catch the match on iFollow. Ah, the life of a football supporter—always masochistically drawn to our team, are we not? I would expect Kamil Conteh to start as we've been missing a real midfield dynamo to partner (or cover for) Sam Finlay for some time. Perhaps the introduction of a new face will also be a catalyst for improvement by reminding his teammates that complacency is not an option. With so many key players injured or sick, I can't shift my pessimistic mood. I'll brace myself for the worst but cling to a glimmer of hope we might get something. 0-2 Oxford. UTG

0-0 Written all over it. Joy at the clean sheet and grimaces at the 1 point haul for January…..COYB!…. MT said he'd be happy with that at half time! Trouble is, it's full time where your meat makes it's money... It's like we owe them. It was one of JAB nail's in coffin and we actually played ok up there, just same old story. I think we've got a too depleted squad, and rookie goalkeeper for them not to take advantage. Ruthless teams trying to go places need to. Tend to agree, we'll lose but with Martin back: 1-3 to the Turds. It'll be nice seeing the £10 oiks in economy giving it to away fans while they can. First class in East Stand, we'll see the same match and walk away I'm sure shaking our heads. The only solace is seeing some of you later for an appletize of adult variety on the famous Road! I wonder what today's social bounty will dig up...? Enjoy it your way..

'Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?' Donald Sutherland [alias Oddball] Kelly's Heroes.
Today is going to be a good day, Chrissy Martin is going to lead the charge [fuelled by Imodium] and Kammy Contay will feed him. Sending positive waves and love to the boys!
Now, nursey, where are my tablets.....

We have played Oxford United 65 times since 1965, W27, D16, L22, Biggest victory 6-2 & 0-5, Defeat 6-1... Oxford United were founded in 1893, they play at the Kassam Stadium which has a capacity of 12,500.. Manager Des Buckingham is 38, born in Oxford & returned from NZ, Aus & India in November 2023 to manage the O's.. Oxford United were formed as Headington in 1893, adding the suffix United in 1911 after merging with Headington Quarry. The club was founded by Rev. John Scott-Tucker, the vicar at Saint Andrew's Church in Headington, and a local doctor named Robert Hitchings. A football team was a way for the cricketers of Headington Cricket Club to maintain their fitness during the winter break. The club crest depicts an Ox to symbolise the location. It reflects the name and history of the city, as Oxford was originally a market town situated near to a ford on the River Isis, which was used by cattle. In 1979, zoologist Desmond Morris, who at the time was a club director, designed the current Ox-head logo which was based on a Minoan-style bull's head. Oxford's fiercest rivalry is with Swindon Town, with Reading seen as the other significant rival team (both are about 30 miles from Oxford). To a lesser extent, Wycombe Wanderers, Luton Town and Northampton Town are also seen as rivals. Ex-Gas player Billy Bodin played 107 games for BRFC, scoring 37 goals, has also played for rivals Swindon and Northampton Town.. Notable Ex-Managers were: Harry Thompson, Arthur Turner, Gerry Summers, Chris Wilder, Michael Appleton, Karl Robinson, Brian Horton, Denis Smith & Jim Smith. Oxford United 0 Bristol Rovers 1 (Andy Rammell) 21st April 2003, remember that volley as if it were yesterday...great day that was. Oxford are sitting very nicely in 6th place and BRFC are in 13th, which means we will win 2-1 IMO...UTG. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/47/Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg/200px-Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg.png V upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/3e/Oxford_United_FC_logo.svg/190px-Oxford_United_FC_logo.svg.png

Surprisingly, atm.... With bet365, we are placed favourites.
Gas win: 6/5. Draw: 13/5. Oxford win: 2/1.
Bet as responsible or as irresponsible or not as you like.

0-0 Written all over it. Joy at the clean sheet and grimaces at the 1 point haul for January…..COYB!…. Well all I can say is thank goodness that we can watch the Gas in the flesh. Lovely temperatures of minis 6, inflated entrance, beautiful Glastonbury type toilets, soggy chips all washed down with six pound a pint of flat lager. All year round sunshine for you and Jeff, idling by the pool, what with the barbecue and ice cold beers. I am finding it so hard to be subjective, when we got it so good here in Blighty. UTG

No Collins or Gibbons in the squad.Jedward in goal. More than happy to see Jedward get a start, make his day if he kept a clean sheet. I think Cox’s confidence is a bit shot.

Commentators saying Collins may have played his last game for the Gas. Ruled himself out and Bolton and Wrexham interested!
