This fixture will always evoke memories of the final game of the 89/90 season. In our last game we'd beaten the 82s 3-0 to claim promotion and the win at Blackpool sealed the title. Happy days indeed. Beautiful sunny day to boot. Anyway enough reminiscing, back to reality as this Blackpool team will be a stronger challenge than their 1990 predecessors. After their loss last week at Cambridge the Blackpool fans forum went into a bit of a meltdown with suggestions the team is on a downward spiral and calls for the manager to go. That bodes well for us and if our mini revival continues we have every chance to grab the three points. But we all know this is Rovers, right? Just as our expectations start to rise we're sent back to earth with a massive bump. That may happen at some stage but not for this game. In his short time here MT seems to have instilled a sense of calm and confidence that has seen us play as a unit. We're not quite a well oiled machine yet but we're on the way. I'm going to risk the wrath of the karma gods and predict a 2-0 win UTG

We have played Blackpool 40 times, W16, D9 & L15, Biggest win 4-0, Loss 6-1, our last away win was 3rd November 2018 - 0-3 Blackpool were founded in 1887, they have played at Bloomfield Road since 1901, which has a capacity of 16,616.. Manager Neil Critchley is 45 and has managed Liverpool U18 & U23, QPR and Blackpool twice... Blackpool's primary rival is Preston North End – the two clubs' grounds being seventeen miles apart – and matches between the two clubs are known as the West Lancashire derby. Since 2012–13, a Fylde Coast derby has developed with Fleetwood Town. Eight-and-a-half miles separate Bloomfield Road and The Fishermen's Highbury Stadium. According to a survey conducted in 2019, Blackpool's other significant rivalries are with Bolton Wanderers, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers. Ex BRFC midfielder Oliver Norburn played 65 games for us from 2011-14, their Head of Finance and Operations is Mark McGhee who managed us for 45 games in 2012.. Blackpool have won the FA Cup once in the 1952-53 season and became known as the Matthews Final.. In August 2021, the club launched Tangerine TV as a direct replacement to the EFL's iFollow streaming service. Notable ex managers were Joe Smith, Ron Suart, Sam Ellis and of course our very own legend Ian Holloway. Blackpool are in 8th place and BRFC are in 11th place, a point will be very well earned. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/df/Blackpool_FC_logo.svg/180px-Blackpool_FC_logo.svg.png V upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/47/Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg/200px-Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg.png

I miss the trips to Blackpool the most, always made it a long weekend and had a crazy time the whole duration. I remember once we stayed at a ‘Star Wars’ themed b&b, my mate knocked over his travel iron on the Nylon Carpet burning it, the landlady knocked on the door and asked us what the smell of burning was?, she then saw the iron shaped burn mark in the carpet and asked ‘what is that’ my mate replied it’s R2D2’s Footprint!. Hope ifollow behaves today, and my prediction is a 1-1 Draw. Hope the weather is kind to the travelling Gas.

See that the epitome of a chocolate teapot Ross Joyce is refereeing today. Expect we will have at least one of the following go against us:
Red card, legit goal of ours disallowed, penalty given against us for nothing and an offside goal of theirs allowed to stand.
Likely to need to score 3 with this f**kwit blowing a whistle to get anything out of the game

Solid first half performance. Went behind to a wonder goal but heads didn't drop and an opportunistic equaliser from Marquis.
We'll have to change tactics second half to counter this wind but we're definately in with a chance of winning this.
