It is refreshing to hear a Rovers manager engage in discussions about the game itself, rather than focusing on referees or belittling the efforts of our own players.

the dribbling then doubling-up to get up the left wing creating the second goal I enjoyed. that’s an obvious sending off. But the second goal has to go down as a defender error. Panto season “He’s behind you.”

Just got back.. ...to the battle cruiser! In Manc land.... A genuine amazing day from start to finish! LG is a handsome bugger.... especially when he's starting songs at half time on concourse....he was mobbed like a hero and even grown men can admire heroes in our bit of space ... Genuinely gas hero! Also, n what the hell are you doing here!?? Anyhoos....onto something less important: A deserved result and performance. Amazing to see us boss the game for almost all of it....our shape without the ball held firm almost as good as our movements with it. A threat on flanks, we passed our way through them at times with ease, then played the ball forward for runners when need be. Their huge no5 was their weakness we exploited. When he got sent off we capitalised immediately, but arguably defended better without him. LT AE pushing forward a great GW cross and master finishing from big JM. All this from sterling defending from CT Kramervs Kramer and, Wilson ....our structure was impervious. A deflected shot for their only goal, and a brilliant save from Coxy was as much as they could muster.... Credit to the hard working approach we forced them into. Credit to a well organised set up. At times it looked like we were playing against ourselves under the B***** era where no one moved but hey you had possession...(?) Another word for all of us that travelled, some 700 of us, we outsang the other 18,000 (yearrrrrright!?) for large parts of the match. An amazing following. Sometimes this club really does surprise everyone. Safe travels home, Gas ...what a day, what an experience and just desserts especially after last season....there was to be no last gasp equaliser and rightly so! You saw the rovers, now um go home I genuinely was not worried from kick off to end. Well done MT and players staff for giving us a performance to be proud of.... UptheGas! Flash?? He was in the away end with you?!? Yes ! For a bit! He was on concourse at half time and got absolutely mobbed by everyone.....he also started a Gas song! What a legend..

LDWW for new manager Taylor. Yes.... decent. We played with purpose, drive and structure instead of look how pretty this pass is sideways and back but at least the stats reflect positively. Our off the ball play was superb. Most times, especially after the sending off, Bolton had no outlet so we're reduced to just playing it around at the back - like we used to do - so I think we've come through this last period of Gas years transfixed with an idealogy that cost us more game than won. We would never have won yesterday if we adopted the same tactics as before.

Panto season “He’s behind you.” I partially agree, it was the Defender who poked the ball to a place he thought was safe, but what impressed me was that Collins was already sprinting down the wing and had already passed the defender, it was Collins ‘anticipation’ that he may get a sniff of the ball that provided the goal.

I didn't see that on the very small screen I watched the nighlights on, but Taiwan's right, it was good team running and positioning. It's probably easier for those of you with both eyes on the front of your head to determine these things.

Just watched the highlights. A few thoughts: Great cross in by Ward for first goal. Bang on the money. Give Marquis the ball there and there is likely to be only one outcome Our aggressive press forced the error for the red card. Looked to me as if Collins made the most of minimal contact and surprised the ref gave it as he gave us very little else throughout. Defender knew he’d been done like a kipper Our second definitely defender error as shanked off his shin. Magnificent finish from Evans Hadn’t picked ip the wicked deflection for their goal but one of ours switches off for a second and doesn't track Toal. Not being critical as overall it was an excellent performance but those fine margins are what you need to aim for to win the league.

It's refreshing for Evans go down after a genuine foul trying to get a chance on the ball, and the correct officiating to take due procedure...

We have our club back,a manager who respects the game and is tactically aware , interviews engaging his brain first without critically destroying individuals who have just been involved in the game from referees, opposing managers and players. How the hell did that former foul mouthed moron ever get appointed as Rovers manager. Well done the Al Saeeds for recognising that, keep up the good work.

Yeah, we're Rovers, and we should be led by exemplars of sport and of decency. It's lovely to see this and to be able to be a supporter, in the full meaning of the word.

Hang on, hang on.... let's not jump to conclusions.
Holy knows what excuses will come out in the coming weeks months years when the real pressure is on?
It's an encouraging start, on and off the pitch and perhaps a refreshing change, but no one can judge after just 2 league matches.

I think what I see is hope of it, O2, and that's lovely to see. I'm by no means getting carried away. I don't like to judge a manager's sport too early at all, but I've seen nothing from him yet to suggest anything indecent or unacceptable, and that's refreshing. He'll get a lot more time from me to sort the sport out, not bringing any shame to Rovers off the field.

Yes, refreshing is the word and his post match interview was excellent, the best I’ve heard from a Rovers manager in a long, long time.

The openness and honesty will not change nor will be his reluctance to lay the blame at individuals errors and inabilities. Recruitment will be interesting though as he has left his trusted foot soldiers behind at Rotherham.

All seems to be working out nicely. JB has found his true calling as a rent-a-gobsh*te, and we have a serious manager in charge who seems to be the polar opposite. However, a word of warning, I think we will struggle to pick up points until February 3, the game against Exeter City FC - some very tough games coming up, some against clubs who should be in the upper echelons of the division above.
8 or 9 more wins for safety has to be the priority, and anything else is a bonus.
