Couldn't cope with their press and unable to get the midfield into it. Still we are winning and have our bench. ‘’Gordon finally looking like he can defend’’ and Vale showing his crossing quality stand out Yes, surprised me as well, hope he continues in the same vein does not drop a clanger second half

A poor first half and even poorer second, a dross-fest.

That was a poor performance.
The players were either demotivated or just not as good as Orient. Another 6 months of that rubbish will not be pleasing on the eye!!

Mangan is quite clearly not the answer - this game sounded utterly dire and we didn't deserve to win.
The board had an extremely long window in which to appoint a new manager and give them an opportunity to 'bed in'. Instead, they have left B*****'s mate in charge, with no sign of a new manager on the horizon.
This season is a write-off, and we need to get to 52 points as quickly as possible.

Bristol Rovers player ratings v Leyton Orient: Ward wallops first goal of the season in draw..by Daniel Hargraves.
Matt Cox - 5 Will be frustrated he hasn't kept clean sheet and made one strong stop in the second half. With all their pressure, Leyton Orient didn't test the goalkeeper much. However, his distribution was a concern tonight with a number of kicks prompting moans and groans from Gasheads. He will only learn from the experience though.
Jack Hunt - 6 Capable of better, particularly going forward with a few crosses missing their intended target but the right-back cleared his lines well and looked as though he was going to be a significant contributor to a clean sheet before the late equaliser.
Connor Taylor - 6 Another one who would be rated higher had he held on for the clean sheet. Won most of what came his way and looked decent alongside James Wilson.
James Wilson - 6 Commanded his backline well and won most of what came his way as Leyton Orient huffed and puffed then blew the house down at the final moment.
Lewis Gordon (off for Tristan Crama 83') - 6 Knocking on the door of a seven, Gordon can be pleased with his return to the side given how in and out he's been this season. Largely solid at the back and looked to make himself a nuisance going forward, he just needed a bit more composure in some moments in the final third. Probably not enough to take George Friend out of the team but he's not far off.
Grant Ward - 8 Probably not quite as solid in the middle first half as he had been at Derby but Ward got his goal just before the break and was a monster in the second period, putting his body on the line and hounding down Orient players high up the pitch. I'm not sure there will be many blades of grass the midfielder didn't cover tonight. Man of the match for me.
Antony Evans - 6 The midfielder had two or three sensational moments of individual quality where he wriggled away from a couple of men in red and then produced a 30/40-yard switch across the pitch to set his team on the attack. Other than that, a pretty quiet game with set-piece opportunities largely wasted.
Luke Thomas (off for Aaron Collins 71') - 6 Unlucky not to score in the second half with an outside of the boot effort nearly nestling into the top corner. Other than that, the forward was lively winning fouls with his pace and skill an issue for players in red but also a few cheap passes that could've put his team in significant danger.
Harvey Vale - 7 Edges the competition for most dangerous-looking attacker with the 20-year-old oozing quality when running down the flanks as well as getting himself involved in defensive actions. The Chelsea loanee's versatility makes him such an influential presence on the wing. A bit more work on end product and the youngster's potential is scary.
Jevani Brown (off for Lamare Bogarde 65') - 6 One of Rovers' better creators on the night with chances pretty scarce. Constantly asked questions of the Orient defence and could've had an assist just before going off after a good one-two with Thomas.
Chris Martin (off for John Marquis 71') - 6 Tried to put pressure on the Orient backline but the delivery wasn't really there for the striker. The 35-year-old got himself involved, dropping deep to link up with his attacking teammates but never had the favour returned once he got into the box.
Substitutes: Lamare Bogarde (on for Brown 65') - 6 Decent cameo. Largely solid.
John Marquis (on for Martin 71') - 5 Will be replaying two chances in his head tonight. Should've scored at least one.
Aaron Collins (on for Thomas 71') - 5 Made himself a handful but didn't threaten much.
Tristan Crama (on for Gordon 86') - N/A Came on late but was almost the hero, heading against the cross bar.

Good game management from Mangan, adjusting shape and tactics to close the game out Thanks for making me laugh. How is not being able to get hold of the ball good game management. The only reason we were still winning at the time of your post was due to orient being pretty poor.

Just got back...
From a probably as cold a Mem as I can remember....no, not the temperature, that's just weather don't you know? ....no, from a mainly quiet, desolate Mem lacking in life, energy and enthusiasm (save at times).
And at a time where the new stand looks exciting, looks professional and fits with the surrounds.
But anyhoos onto less important things...
Leadership. We lacked that tonight. Let's all be honest, we haven't played well for a while now, no matter results.
Well it depends on the way you look at it....two 90 mins conceded goals has cost us 4 points in last 2 games, but while we're all being honest here, Leyton Orient deserved a point. We just simply can't put away our chances, especially at the end tonight!? And the forward slow play, sideways and back is getting tedious.
We have some creativity in AE (started at the back of mid), LT (drifted inside too regular), JB (yet to prove himself), AC (dropped to bench) and HV (genuinely brilliant tonight, on course for an Eliot Anderson status) but mostly we seem to create passes back to an ever inconsistent and less than confident Cox...?
We have some superb defence play, CT take another well deserved bow....you were genuinely m o m excellent. And most things were dealt with in the air within 89 mins....but as we spoke above, those sucker punches are going against us just atm.
Leyton Orient played well second half, possibly partly aided by our defence receding quicker than a Bobby Charlton haircut... makes you think why some of their time wasting was needed? Just go at us like confident teams do and lady luck will come your way..
With so much to play for, we seem to play so very little. No pace. No taking on the defence. Few long shots. Wasted set pieces. Ward's goal was in 2nf phase of that. Individuals playing ok but not within their team.
Something of a surprise ladies and gentlemen, we need a manager. We are rudderless sometimes. Especially if our opponents make a change.
These are B*****'s men, B*****'s coaches and staff. Would anyone else think what I'm thinking if we can't appoint a newbie? .... Peterborough do it quite a bit.?

Interesting interview with AM.
You can feel the chaos at the club with people not knowing if they will have a job, also sounds like that was his last game.

I wish we could have brought Darrel Clarke back, he'd have been the best fit from all the managerial candidates mentioned so far.
Warnock or Pulis for me - bring them here on a short term basis. They would be able to deal with existing staff too.

The only reason we were still winning at the time of your post was due to orient being pretty poor. It made me laugh too. Shape and tactics? We played ( were forced to play) six at the back, for almost the entirety of the second half. Orient had 70% of the play, and most of that was in our half. Not being able to get hold of the ball, was only part of the problem. On the rare occasions we did have possession in the second half, we gave it away again pretty much straight away. Not one player seemed capable of putting his foot on the ball and either bringing it out himself, or finding someone else who could. Woeful performance.

Whilst I agree with that post, and stat wise (we can't have it all ways as we've dominated possession and not won games before - even though you could argue what part of the pitch we dominated), I can't honestly say there were very many squeaky bum moments. I thought we defended really well, coping with the aerial threat - until our nemesis Piggot made his entrance. We headed out most threats and for me CT was again m o m having an immense input. I thought first half they targeted our left, but got short change out of Gordon who defended well but his distribution not always on song, and he put himself about a bit. I really liked his contribution. Second half they tried our right and had more luck because Hunt is great but at time Evans was left looking like a headless chicken. In summary, I thought we were better without the ball !
