Great to see Finley play so well, LMc relief and Collins 2nd half performance.
Bogarde and a striker please.

After watching the first three league games I'm prepared to predict we will reach the play-off's, at the very least. Put a small wager on it Sorry but I'm not a betting man.

Match Stats: Charlton 1 BRFC 2 - Possession 53% - 47% - Shots 18-14 - On Target 5-7 - Corners 7-5 - Referee: Charles Breakspear - Attendance: 12,756 (780 Gasheads) Luke McCormick's stoppage-time strike sealed a first League One win of the season for Bristol Rovers in a dramatic victory over Charlton at the Valley. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/42C2/production/_119209071_luke_mccormick_rex.jpgLuke McCormickDaniel Kanu had cancelled out Scott Sinclair's opener before McCormick struck at the death. Charlton edged the opening 45 minutes and Corey Blackett-Taylor lashed a left-footed shot across the face of goal while Karoy Anderson's in-swinging corner clipped off the top of Matthew Cox's crossbar. The Gas went ahead in the 58th minute, with Sinclair turning in from close range after Aaron Collins reacted quickly to set him up following Ashley Maynard-Brewer's parry from Antony Evans' free-kick. Sinclair lobbed narrowly wide in pursuit of a second and Lucas Ness made a fine sliding tackle to deny John Marquis. Addicks forward Kanu, 18, collected his first league goal, threading past Cox in the 73rd minute from Anderson's pass. Charlton manager Dean Holden was booked after Rovers substitute Josh Grant was only shown yellow for clipping Alfie May, who had hit the post moments earlier, as he looked to go through on goal. McCormick's winner came in the seventh minute of added time. He chested down Grant Ward's pass in the box and hit a first-time volley beyond Maynard-Brewer at his near post.

Bristol Rovers player ratings v Charlton Athletic...by Jordan Jones
Matt Cox - 6
He was sound between the sticks but there was only one major save of note, which was from May.
Lewis Gordon (subbed off, 63) - 6
Charlton’s wingers found some space in the first-half down the left-flank.
Tristan Crama - 7
Unlucky not to get a clean sheet, but nearly undid all his good work with an error in the last few minutes.
Connor Taylor - 6
Played well in the first half, but he along with Grant lost his man when Kanu found a pocket of space.
Luca Hoole - 6
Some neat bits of skill in the first-half, but Charlton did well down the flanks.
Grant Ward - 8
Put himself about well tonight, and got into Charlton players faces. A good assist for McCormick too.
Antony Evans (subbed off, 83) - 7
He played a deeper role than Saturday but still played a role going forward. His free-kick eventually resulted in Sinclair’s goal.
Scott Sinclair (subbed off, 63) - 7
Two goals in as many games now. He’ll wish his last action of the match though was his chip ending in the net rather than going wide.
Aaron Collins - 7
Difficult first half, but showed good determination to assist Sinclair for the opener. A goal would do him the world of good, but he’ll take an assist.
Luke Thomas (subbed off, 63) - 7
Impressive once again. He was full of running and had a good first-half.
John Marquis - 6
A few chances again but he couldn’t take them. One’s going to have to hit the net at some point.
Josh Grant (subbed on, 63) - 5
Unfortunately didn’t get near to Kanu for Charlton’s equaliser. He took one for the team with a foul as Charlton tried to break through on the counter.
Sam Finley (subbed on, 63) - 6
Missed a tackle in the build-up to Charlton’s goal, but recovered well.
Harvey Vale (subbed on, 63) - 6
Nearly got a goal on his debut but just got his calculations wrong. He did look a handful though, and a it’ll be good to see what he’s like with a few games under his belt.
Ryan Loft (subbed on, 83) - 5
Came on and put himself about, but with so little time, wasn’t able to make an impact.
Luke McCormick (subbed on, 88) - 7
Credit to McCormick. He’s had a difficult few months, but he took his goal well, and thanked his manager in the celebrations.

Woke this morning to the cheery sight of a Gas victory at the Valley. First job this morning is to message Jim Davidson with a ‘get it up ye’, well done Gas!.

Just got back.. From iFollow!
Another decent performance, missed chances and a wonder strike or two to settle the match.
First of all it has to be said we're probably playing Charlton at a good time with a few players missing. But then so are we, so all's good in the house.
Second of all, that's three opponents we've faced that have tried to play football, instead of their go to of gamesmanship and time wasting we see do much in this division. Credit where it's due.
Thirdly, (linked to secondly) the ref was reasonable even though their commentary had disclosed he had helped them in prior matches.
Fourthly, what a great advert for 3rd division football, three on the bounce playing some exciting stuff.
Anyhoos, onto less important stuff...
French Bee fella heart at the defence is going to take some knocking off if your get your gig based on form. Crama....apart from one awful kamikaze moment, a virtual stalwart in defence. Composed, assured, confident, mature.... my m o m. Payne or that Alfie wasn't going to get past him (save our mistake) come what May, so stick that £8k per week somewhere else....
Closely followed by Aaza....he could, on another night have had hat trick of assists. Once again their defence and keeps excelled (even though I thought he could have done better on Macca sublime winner). But AC looked a constant threat. With LT, AE (wicked free kick to set up the first) JM (skip!) and SS we have a formidable interchangable front 4! All we need is a goalscorer..
Connor is getting better and better, captain in wait.
Keeps could have done better for me for there goal, got nothing on it, not saying the goal is his fault, but disappointed he couldn't get something on it considering it was so close to him.
Hoole and Gordon again the weaker links for me. It .
And, at the time I thought the reverse of Saturday, out sub decisions were poor and handed the initiative to Charlton. No doubt Vale has been bugged up but I thought a bad sense of timing to bring him on at such a critical time - in the end we got away with it with Macca brilliant finish - but it appeared we invited them on to us ...
Lastly, well done Macca! You have pretty much the whole Gas family urging you on and wanting your success. The bursting of emotions from all sides is what brings us together. We so hope you get more opportunities to show us your talents in coming weeks..
A good win against high spending opponents and extending our unbeaten league run..
Onto Bridge over the river Cam. Will it be a classic performance? Plenty of Guinness? Dare we dream ...?

Many thanks 02etc This is what worries me. Last season we had some of our best games against sides that played football. Games I went to oop North notably Accrington, we struggled against horrible teams that put themselves about, niggled, dived, and played the ref. I hope that we can start to come good against those horrible teams.

I have to say and I know it's only three games in, but this looks like the best squad we have had for years.

There's something about a last-minute win that makes watching it almost addictive.

My understanding is there will be no point in time wasting, cheating etc as the refs will ‘stop watch’ all breaks in play and one can expect a few 100 minute plus games. It’s all good as once teams know they have nothing to gain from gamesmanship, and play.football instead, after a while the 100 minute games will drop back to a normal level of additional time. UTG Superb start!

UTG Superb start! Yes, there's a detectable difference this season. However, I disagree that there is "nothing to gain". If you are under the cosh, and your opponent has momentum, a feigned injury to force a minute or two's break in play can give you all the time you need to re-group, get your breath back, get a bit of coaching, etc. It's not just about the total minutes, it's about the continuous period of minutes. To put it another way, I ran a marathon last year...although I admit that it was on thirteen separate days of two miles each.

That’s a fair point, it will nevertheless make them think twice if they will be facing ten additional minutes, plus maybe another couple of minutes on top. Twelve extra minutes with the Gas attacking the Blackthorn, even Barcelona would struggle to hold out. I also believe we have a much improved squad of players, who will be more than cape able, of winning matches when playing against the mediocre sides, which cost us any playoff ambitions last season UTG
