Well done BSS on your reappointment. The silent majority have spoken Trying not to appear North Korean, shouldn't we wait until everyone has voted before announcing the result?

Well done BSS on your reappointment. The silent majority have spoken Trying not to appear North Korean, shouldn't we wait until everyone has voted before announcing the result? hahaha - I bet there is a North Korean type turnout percentage as well, given there is no audit trail on ballot papers But at least its not a photocopied form this year, and isnt capable of being photocopied and many copies being filled in by one person with a mixed pack of different coloured crayons

Excellent news for non-car owners like myself who don't mind the odd slice of free pasty. Bad news for anyone who expects the Supporters Club director to show a pair of balls occasionally.

Rod did well to get 120. If he sticks at it, shakes hands on match days home and away, attends all of the SC functions and all of the regional SC meetings then he could topple Comedy Ken at the next ballot.

Secondly, well done Rod, at least you gave it a try.
To me it was obvious that BSS would be re-elected, even from 3,500 miles away, I cannot believe anyone thought otherwise. MancGas, good to see there were no "hanging chad" votes to dispute, sorry that's a local reference here.
I am sure BSS will endeavour to represent all Gasheads, whether they are Supporters Club members or not.

Comfortable as expected, hence lack of visibility on here. Well done Rod. In spite of some not taking too kindly to you challenging BSS I think that's a good number.
I hope now BSS will engage with ALL supporters including those who don't visit GasChat.

I agree with you Cheshire that it is not consistent for either fans director to engage with one "established" forum and not the other. It remains to be seen how visible either fans director remains on Gaschat. However, I would say that Brian has always responded promptly to any direct communication in my experience. However, like any human being, I would imagine that BSS is more likely to engage on here if comments of a more aggressive/ personal nature were avoided.

Agreed about last comment CW but we will never know as he never pops in for a chat.... I think he is also preparing not to be so active on GasChat though. He says that he prefers Twitter....

For the sake of completeness, this from gaschat:
Post by brianss 3 hours ago "Hi
I wanted to say a very big thank you to everyone who supported me in the election for Fans Director and also for the very kind messages placed on this Forum.
It has been a very difficult time for all of us at BRFC and I sincerely hope that our fortunes have finally turned around. I shall continue to do all I can to ensure our progress continues and your voices are heard.
I would also like to thank Rod for standing. It takes tremendous courage to put yourself forward and I only have admiration for him for doing that. I know he will continue to do all he can to support our club.
Now that the election is over, I shall try to keep you up to dated as and where I can. I find twitter easier as I am out and about all the time. Nevertheless I shall do what I can and I am looking at new ways of doing this.
Once again my sincere thanks
best wishes as always #utg
Brian"

It is sad CW that you and I have to post BSS' pre- and post-election notes on here rather than the man himself.

Ken doesn't do computers, he posted once or twice on the old OF when he was first elected saying all the usual stuff about how delighted he was to be elected and how he looked forward to representing us and would communicate regularly with supporters via the forum. When he was presented with a number of questions from posters and a period of silence followed, we then had a message from Ian Cole (remember him ?!) saying Ken had asked him to let us know he had trouble with his connections and would reply as soon as he could and that was the last we ever heard from him......I don't think they were even very hard questions either In fairness to BSS he did try to engage with forum users although rather strangely mostly on the Alternative Forum (?!) and occasionally on the OF. Is there a pattern emerging here ?! Of course once things got a bit 'spicey' on the OF he withdrew shall we say to Box 1 and then voted to close the OF But hey ho, life moves on and I like to think we now have an even better forum than the OF, well done and thank you Mods.... :wales:see even have a Welsh flag to wave even though I'm not Welsh

Was BSS invited to post on the other forum, I think one of the Mods is involved in the supporters club hence why there is also a BRSC section with up to date news re coaches and ticket information ? I know he doesn't need to be invited to post on here but couldn't he be, at least offer some encouragement to him to engage with us as the re-elected Fans Director ? We're not all bully's on here are we computer punch

That's why I posted his election address to ensure all round fair play. At the end of the day we can't force him to post. Although he is probably scared of you bridgeman, you naughty boy you!!

I can understand perhaps his unwillingness to post regularly on the forum's, there have been some outright vindictive postings in the past and obviously one or two posters with past history have chosen to make his forum life a little difficult. I'm content if he has been invited, there really isn't much more you can do is there but thanks for posting his comments. Mischievious maybe...but NEVER naughty.....lol !

I think that one or two of our more outspoken posters would be more than disappointed to read that assessment, they would probably be hoping for something a touch more positive. Mind you I think that BSS has brought a lot of it on himself, by ignoring the posters on the old AF despite saying that he would return to the forum to post at some time in the future, but never did. Perhaps it puts things into perspective rather well. Chant . . . Three more years, three more years.
