A collective wince from those in the car on the way home tonight, listening to JB's interview: "But I spoke to the lads in there; I said look, nobody's dying of cancer here ..." What?? Now I have heard people say, when something disappointing has happened, things like: "Don't worry, no one's died...". But to add 'dying of cancer' - what is that about? Never heard anyone say it like that. It's similar to the 'holocaust' comment last season. That was just bizarre. I'd never heard holocaust used in that way before, in the sentence used. The problem was it caused a right stir. JB and the club went quiet for weeks. Eventually he apologised, but whether he meant it or not it came across mealy-mouthed: "So if anybody was offended by that, I would like to apologise for that." Just say you apologise; just say you are sorry - no need to say 'if anybody was offended'. This time round no need to apologise, but I just wish he'd think what he's saying. It was Paul Coutts behind the idea for the team to shave their heads, I believe. |

B***** is like many of our current MP's who have been elected due to notoriaty but lack substance to be a politician and spokesman. B***** has a lot of good to say but is prone to the odd calamity quote. "I don't bear grudges" Hmmm |

The team has enough to stay up. We did and probably still do. My concern though is that confidence and momentum is everything. With it you start to look like world beaters and win games you have no right to. Lose it and you can end up in a relegation bound tailspin which the longer it goes on for, the harder it is to pull out of. Over the past 7 games we seem to have thrown away the momentum that was building. We need a win from somewhere and we need it quick |

We have several posters on here who are/have been through severe illnesses, yourself included I believe, we wouldn't comment flippantly about their/your illnesses. If it was a family situation and I had used that type of comment when a family member was ill, my kids, let alone my mum, would be furious! He fancies himself as some kind of modern day philosopher commenting on all on sundry. But as with many politicians, he forgets that with utterances comes responsibility, and bearing in mind how one of his players is at the moment I think they are very badly chosen words. We are all hurting as the Gas lose. He and the team [his team] are not delivering. They are playing way below form. We don't need to be having debates about his off the field comments, but hey here we are yet again..... |

No one seems to have commented on the fact that the game changed following the break in play during the first half, due to a Burton player being treated overlong on the pitch for injury treatment, why this is allowed i'll never know, GET HIM OFF !
This was then followed by a spectator requiring medical attention which necessitated a further delay in the game.
After this we lost our momentum and never got going again.
Prior to the delay(s) we were playing some decent stuff and moving the ball forward with a degree of urgency.

We need a win from somewhere and we need it quick To give some parity, we were playing well up until he decided that the goalkeeper needed changing. We were playing high press and some attractive football but now we can’t seem to string passes together , heads drop and we don’t look like we could score in a brothel. This needs urgent redressing. I just do not see Wael being up to sacking him. He will have to leave, that’s how I see it, anyway |

I’m 100% behind Joey B*****, there’s absolutely no question in my mind that this club would be a struggling national league side if he had not, along with Wael taken the severe actions required to eradicate the rotten core of this club. We are seeing a young enthusiastic manager learning his trade and getting ahead of himself. He knows where he wants to get to but is learning, as we all do, that there are times we have to cut our cloth to suit the circumstances. He resorts to the guillotine rather than the velvet glove, that’s his life experience showing through which he understands and is undoubtedly trying to temper. He lost focus a little bit based on the results we were getting pre Christmas, with a system, as noted by the Ipswich manager, is somewhat Kamikaze and has been seen through by opponents it used to overwhelm. The players cannot cope with tactics deployed by teams like Burton that cause disconnects all over the pitch and frustrate them to the point of despair. We saw the blueprint on Tuesday that we need to employ going forward. Ipswich couldn’t break us down and we should have won that game had three good chances been taken.
9 points clear of relegation means nothing if Joey doesn’t recognise his errors and show the humility required to reinstate Belshaw immediately and apologise to the team as a whole for sowing his weapon of discord amongst them, after all if he could do that to Belshaw how secure are the rest of them.
We will find out very quickly if we are going to be relegated with what we see at Oxford, 1 point from 18 could quickly become 1 from 21 with team in bits, there’s no coming back from that.
