We know that age is the number one risk factor for most cancers. The King is 75 years old, and just over a third of all new cancers are diagnosed in people aged 75 and over. Most cancer treatment these days is given to people who are outpatients, which is how we are told the King will receive his treatment, but that covers a huge variety of different treatments. Chemotherapy can be delivered in many different forms, and all treatments come with potential side effects. But because we don't know what type of cancer the King has, we can't speculate as to what treatment he may receive. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/2/6/8c2f42a2-f712-49ad-b5b9-65d3547a322c.jpgThe Prince of Wales is expected to return to royal duties on Wednesday - his first public service since his wife had abdominal surgery last month. He is due to host an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle tomorrow, before attending the London Air Ambulance annual fundraising gala in London. Prince William’s return to work arrives at a difficult moment for the 41-year-old heir to the throne. He will not only carry out engagements without Kate - who isn’t expected to return to public duties until after Easter - by his side. But he will also be tasked with covering some of the King’s public duties in the coming weeks. His brother, Prince Harry, is returning to the UK, after reportedly being seen at Los Angeles airport last night. But the brothers' relationship is strained - and it's not known if they will meet. 'Get well soon' paintings on streets of Mumbaiichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/2/6/4aec3e2c-4185-46a6-86a6-1effe8247122.jpgWe've been reporting on the good wishes sent to the King by many people around the world. And students at the Gurukul School of Art in Mumbai have spent the day painting portraits of him. Working in the middle of the street, the students painted 'get better soon' messages on giant canvases. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2024/2/6/1f94c1f7-08a3-4da2-aef5-267faa91f06a.jpg

This is all over the last 3 years since being diagnosed with prostrate cancer / diabetis ,I’ve spent a lot of the last 3 yrs in various hospitals , all have been great with me I’m not keen on hospitals , but they’ve all looked after me when it’s all got a bit much I think the nhs is brilliant , it’s very easy to stand on the sidelines having ago at the nhs , loads do My experience is not what I read , as I say maybe area wise issues I share your NHS experience. I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer back in 2014 and caught it before it caught me out, thanks to the diligence of my then GP. He referred me in the Feb of 2014 and tests, MRI, biopsy all done by June and I had a Radical Laparoscopic Prostatectomy in August. Going under I was 3/4 (7) on the Gleason Scale, the histology post op made it 4/3, aggressive/non aggressive. Post op analysis on surrounding tissue showed zero margin so I am in effect cured. That was in Hertfordshire and the local general hospital had just had £250 million of investment. Just goes to show. Either way, good luck with yours. Thankyou oldie , I’m on active surveillance ( basically watch &!wait ) for prostrate , though I have a prostrate biopsy tomorrow as the team of 10 who looked at my kidney biopsy also looked at my records and wernt happy with my psa going up from 11-12- 13.4 , my regular consultant said it was caused by infections , the team of 10 said in 35 % of cases the cancer can become more aggressive , so said they wanted a biopsy , Kidney has not spread so they believe a partial removal will solve the issue It’s life , I’m a positive person , best of health to you

My PSA was 6.75 when I agreed to cut the b'stard out. All you can do is get all the information and decide what's right for you. There are no perfect answers. As I say, good luck.

NOT KING CHARLES RELATED, BUT BIG NEWS RELATED TO THE ROYAL FAMILY, KATE MIDDLETON - TESTS HAVE FOUND SIGNS OF CANCER....ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/1440/cpsprodpb/F5B2/production/_132989826_live_hero_1_princess_catherine_getty.jpgThe Princess of Wales' cancer diagnosis is set to pile further pressure on the 'slimmed down' monarchy. Kate announced today in a deeply moving video message that she is suffering from the disease, just weeks after her father-in-law King Charles was diagnosed. Prince William is now set to be absent from royal duties until after Easter as he supports his wife and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Andrew's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are not currently working royals, and nor is Lady Louise Windsor, the daughter of Prince Edward. There have previously been calls for Zara and Mike Tindall to do more. The Duke of Gloucester does carry out engagements but is now 79 and does not have a high public profile. The frail Duke of Kent is now 88 and is unlikely to be able to take on engagements in the place of Kate, William or the King. It comes after Princess Anne, who is now 73, told a Canadian broadcaster last May: 'I think that 'slimmed down' was said in a day when there were a few more people to make that seem like a justifiable comment', adding: 'It doesn't sound like a good idea from where I'm standing.' After the King's own cancer diagnosis was revealed in February, royal commentator Phil Dampier cast doubt on the Royal Family's ability to keep up with engagements. He told MailOnline: 'All of a sudden with these health problems we have it's looking very, very threadbare.' Mr Dampier said that although Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie could be brought in 'for minor duties', their father Prince Andrew's past ties to the late Epstein make their involvement 'more difficult' for the family. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/03/22/17/82785503-13228559-image-a-1_1711129853989.jpgInstead, he praised the Duchess of Edinburgh Sophie for a doing a 'very good job', adding he would like to see her 'upping her game and doing a bit more'. The Princess Royal has 11 upcoming engagements from Monday until the end of the month, whilst the Duke of Edinburgh has two. Queen Camilla will be present at the Maundy Service in Worcester Cathedral on March 28. The Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis and said she is undergoing 'preventative' chemotherapy in a deeply emotional video message this evening. Kate said the news had come as a 'huge shock' and that she and William 'have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.' She said: 'It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok. 'As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits. 'Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. 'As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.' The Princess's cancer was discovered after she underwent abdominal surgery at The London Clinic in January.

A female friend of mine died leaving 3 children under 12,very hard for everyone but at least they didnt have the media frenzy,I hope the media leave them alone now and stop prying into their family trauma. Someone even tried to access the princess's hospital records...what scumbags....politicians,journalists,drug dealers surely the 3 most hated professions ?

Controversial £150,000 sculpture of Prince Philip is to be removed from Cambridge after being described as 'possibly the poorest quality work' ever submitted.
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/03/26/19/82921973-0-image-a-1_1711482024375.jpg The £150,000 13-ft bronze sculpture (pictured) called 'The Don' is supposed to represent Prince Philip in his role as Vice Chancellor of Cambridge UniversityA controversial statue of Prince Philip will be torn down after the city council described it as 'possibly the poorest quality work' ever submitted. The £150,000 13-ft bronze sculpture called 'The Don' is supposed to represent Prince Philip in his role as Vice Chancellor of Cambridge University. A plaque under the sculpture reads: 'HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh, Chancellor University of Cambridge 1977-2011.' Yet Cambridge City Council have now issued an enforcement notice for the statue to be removed as it doesn't have planning permission and has a 'harmful material impact' on the appearance of the area. City planners refused permission for the statue to be displayed outside a new office block on Hills Road in 2014, describing it as the worst piece of public art they had ever seen. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/03/26/19/82921975-0-image-a-2_1711482029036.jpgCambridge City Council public art officer Nadine Black said it was 'possibly the poorest quality work that has ever been submitted to the council.' She added: 'It is not site-specific and is a work already purchased and has no relationship to this site. It is too large a scale for the context of the space it will be located within and will compromise the quality of the new development.' The statue was originally attributed to Uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry, but he later disowned the piece. An enforcement notice issued by the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service (GCSP) on March 5, said it appeared the sculpture had been erected within the last four years without planning permission. The enforcement notice said it has a 'harmful material impact' on the appearance of the area and that it was contrary to policies in the Cambridge Local Plan. It said the sculpture must be permanently removed along with its foundations and plinth within four months from April 11, unless an appeal is made beforehand. The land must also be restored to its former condition prior to the sculpture's installation. Councillor Katie Thornburrow said nobody 'seems to have a good word to say about it' and she will 'be glad to see it gone.' i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/03/26/22/82922031-13241953-image-a-8_1711490799176.jpg
