Yes. Coming next the sound fury madness and violence of derby Day under Joey Barton. 😈 Swindon Town is not a derby!
Agreed, it is a huge game for us. A win would kick start our season.
Plymouth is a West Country derby, Swindon isn’t? The away end will be full and boisterous, our fans and players will be waiting to give em some. A visit from Grimsby this ain’t!

Norwich to Ipswich 45 miles Liverpool to Manchester 34 miles Bristol to Swindon 39 miles Madrid to Barcelona 313 miles Okay, I am thoughtful and reasonable so I concede, not the derby but a derby. Let’s just say next weeks West Country Derby a big one. The noise, passion, aggression will reflect this. proper good old fashioned football with all the trimmings. Think I’ll start beering up for it right now.

Swindon v Rovers is a derby.
Not as local as some derbies, like eg Chester v Chesterfield ,but still a derby.

Swindon v Rovers is a derby. Not as local as some derbies, like eg Chester v Chesterfield ,but still a derby. I agree. The media will call it West Country derby, and ramp it. Have to say in advance, this one has potential for taking it too far, between the sets of fans going and coming, between the managers and their players. Barton quite clearly poured Rovers relegation all over Garner, though I don’t think Garner threatened Barton with a day in court for it, was that just Tisdale? A few weeks ago I marked it down as a Rovers win because I don’t belief after their summer Swindon will be ready for the aggression and passion they will face. In fact, for a Rovers side who can gel and get it together, this league is wide open, a lot of the more realistic challengers, like Bradford have started slowly too, Salford even behind us. And from that sequence of matches I chose some weeks back for analysis of points gained from those available, add the win against Swindon too it, and it’s beginning to look like a quite credible amount of points for Rovers from the block of fixtures isn’t it.

What about that time in 1993 when Jihazi al Jihadi al Jishazzi al Mucatooni played themselves in a cup match - after a mistake in the draw?
That must be the derbiest of all derbies.
(The match was declared a draw at 5-5 just before half time when the two goalies killed each other in a snap encounter when discovered by the corner flag monitor in the assistant referee's sauna.)

Hartlepool in 7th place on 14 points.
Rovers in 18th place on 10 points.
So only 4 points off a play off place.
Made me chuckle a wee bit,part from surprise as we're so close - and as the late great Ken Dodd might of said - h a p p i n e s s.
Abit cheeky, but we appear to be challenging.

I’m proceeding on the basis absolutely none of that is true. And that you are a bit weird.

Our 4 points off 7th place backs your "wide open" statement on the division. Yep,any club that can get it even 'half together' might find themselves in the race.

Yes, gazing into their own fluffy nevel all these weeks so many Rovers fans don’t realise, for a Rovers side who can gel and get it together, this league is wide open, a lot of the more realistic challengers, like Bradford have started slowly too, Salford even behind us. A point off Newport. FGR and Swindon struggling to score now (and the FGR keeper and defence are s**t, they won’t end up top 3)

All in all a bit disappointing.
I think we were about 10 minutes away from getting shot of our rather unpleasant manager.
Oh well, let's hope Swindon can help him on his way.
